Your doing it right. We get carried away with our rigs and the things we want/can/will do with and to them but in the end, if you don't make your family time better they are worthless.

Sounds like your daughter and our Schnauzer would get along great. She is always trying to help me work on the 'cruiser and if I pick up a set of keys she heads straight fore the 80 bypassing the Tundra.

View attachment 1142455 Having seen this 80 Series in person I can honestly say the photos don't do it justice.

I'd love to see some pics of that pickup. Especially the bed. Sorry if I got distracted. I too copied you list as a to do list for me! Nice 80!

Here's the build thread. Its a 70 series. Its an awesome vehicle. Props to my wife - she saw it driving down the road one day while i was working, she comes home and says I just saw some white old landcruiser. We have a much higher population of old defenders to older landcruisers in our town so I was shocked to find someone on here who lived close to me with such an awesome cruiser.
Glad to see you finally updated your thread. I was starting to wonder if your digital camera had run out of film. We need to do lunch so I can see those mats.
I'm up for lunch. Maybe in a couple weeks, I have some parts coming you may like...Rosen aircraft sunvisors to replace my factory ones. Still waiting on the snorkel parts. Still a couple parts for the leather to come in but just got all new seat cushions from @beno. Can't wait to get it all installed.

Yea I definitely feel the Cruiser is a great family bonding project. She loves to help. Trying to get my wife more interested ;). However my daughter loves the rig, she chooses it before any other car to ride in. I have a feeling i may have to buy another one cause she is going to want one in 14 yrs. haha. Oh well - I also have another girl coming in about 3-4 months. Maybe ill need to start looking for other rigs to work on. Wife may not like that.

Installed the yodateq food warmer.

you hit the nail on the head my friend, I sold my fj40 because it just really wasn't a truck I felt comfortable driving to and from teh trail with my daughter in, now I have built up my 80 and my daughter is going to surf and turf with me!

Man I am glad you guys are Ok!! That accord took a hit man. Wow. Easy fix for the cruiser.

You and the other driver are both okay ..... That's all that matters.

While it's at the shop I'll see if there are any parts I want to pilfer. :)

Is there any major damage beyond the brush bar, fenders and hood?

Hard to tell. The hoods buckled. Rob thinks may settle out when bumper removed as is putting tension on side. The drivers fender is slightly touching door. The lower piece of metal below the grill is bent. It drove but sounds like the shroud may be touching the fan. Couldn't open the hood as the top of the arb was over the hood. Really need to pull the arb first.

Overall, a much better day to be in a Land Cruiser than a small sedan. :)
