It makes sense to install the fuel tank before final trimming and installation of the floor pan.

The FJ45Kevin technique will be implimented on the corner.

Both cab corners with cab supports are welded in. Floor pan under fuel tank is welded in.

Started on the driverside firewall support since I will be going with a more modern brake booster.

It is the little things you don't read about on the internet that take the most time. LOL

Made it work using a hammer and an anvil to form it and then curt and welded in a 1" section.

Bottom side of the tub is 99% done. I welded in the support brace and hit a few other little stress cracked areas before I applied self etching primer.

Much easier to wire things up if the underside or backside of the dash is painted white.

In ur firewall swap conversion its easiest to use the newer pedal assembly as well. I grafted a section of the firewall, either way works. I think the ratio on the pedal throw is different on old vs new as i never dialed in brakes with the old pedals. Thats why i put in boosted brake pedal assembly. Food for thought. Looking great!!

Added some color to the cab interior. It strongly resembles Dune Beige but is actually a more commonly found color. Cummins Beige #922. It is a little dark due to poor lighting and it is a first coat over black self etching primer.

Wife thought I was having way too much fun so she jumped in an masked off the back of dash.

Decision time on the power train.

Using 4x4 blocks as spacers, this is how high it will need to be to clear the 4L80e/Split case combo.

Other than the tub fitment issues and the fact that a $900 computer (don't have one) is required to use the transmission behind a diesel, I still have this bit of a problem.

I contacted Advance Adaptors to see what they have come up with since they sell the 4l80e/Splitcase adaptor.

I just found out Advance Adaptor does sell the kit # 716369 to adapt the front output to a smaller flange.

I guess I will have to find a computer now.
