Dan, those are common areas on 45 cabs to crack, seen it many times and my own truck is starting to crack there, i think it is due to flex in the lwb frames?
I know you have lotsa donors for sheet metal but I thought I'd mention I saved the fuel tank depression out of my 78 FJ45. I cut it out when I added the toybox and changed the floor to be all flat. Not the same vintage but looks similar. You can have it for shipping cost if you need it.
Had cracks in the same areas on my fj45 removable top 45 cab. Body mounts on mine were in pretty good shape so I tend to agree that frame flex probably causes the cab to flex and crack over time.
I'm rethinking my frame and I may go back and do some stitch welding on it in the middle section to stiffening it up.

Cut a patch panel and did my best wo weld it in.

Removed the bottom lip to see how bad the rust is. It is bad but not as bad as I though it would be.
The 12mm wrench is for size reference of the chunks of rust sandwiched between the metal.

Had some time to work on it this afternoon.
I cut the welds on the spanner peices between the B pillar and the rear seat platform. I was amazed how much rust was piled up in the corners.

1 1/4" angle iron cut and contoured to fit.

This area is pretty much done until I replace the section under the fuel tank.

I flipped the cab over and began on the rear cab mounts and the rusted out metal around them.

Once I got the correct contour, I drilled out the spot welds and removed the last of the metal strip from the old section.

Sleeve was rusted tight onto the bolt. A few weeks soaking with PB Blaster and a 10 Ton press would not budge it so I drilled it out.
