Dude looks great! I like those MTRs. What swayed you for those over a set of KM2s this time around?
I never got the km2's. The mtr's have that little change in the pattern on the inside which makes them perform great in snow and rain. Those 35's only weigh 67 pounds the 37's I had on there where close to 100. I love them on the FJ and I tested them out in SMORR moonlight and down in Texas and they rode smooth on the highway you can barely hear them and did everything I asked them to do on the trail. That's why I stayed with them and bought a set for the lexus.

Tonight I took the running boards off. I will drain the trans fluid tomorrow and I'm hoping to instal my new break line Friday. Oh my mount for the ultragauge came in. I tested the winch tonight and to my surprise it works. Filip and and I re spooled the wire cuz I could not look at it all bunched up anymore. She is getting there......I won't have sliders or a skid for Tuttle so I will take it easy....for now.

great start!

I need to figure out how to secure my breather hoses, too. I added extended ones to the '85 4Runner and I have them literally zip tied to a spot on the engine compartment with lots of slack, but doesn't look safe.

Have you guys ever thought about tapping a brass fitting into the side of the airbox. You could then run your breathers together with a few fittings, then run them into the airbox. Then, if any water gets into your breathers, well, you have worse problems to worry about.

guess the question is do the breathers offgas oil when the axles get heated up. If so, I would not want to introduce more oil before the MAF.

Ok got the transmission done I will change the fluid again after Tuttle. It was pretty dirty. Here is a question. So the lovely parts store ordered me a new extended break line however it did not seal. It was correct but the internals on one end did not match the stock also there was no way to put the clip back on. So I put the old one back on. Any suggestions on where I can get just one line for the rear?

Here is a pic of the break line from last night. I went to Napa this morning and ordered the correct one.

Got the break line installed I also placed an order for some metaltech sliders. They should be here sometime next week. I'm still doing some research on the skid plates.

Well after the BDH blew a head gasket the parts list is coming together nicely thanks to kelly. I found a local shop here in como to do the machine portion of the rebuild. Looking forward learning this part since I'm pretty sure it's not the last one we will be rebuilding and I'm always up for helping the next guy. More pics and posts to come. Once we are done I'll post the detailed list along with prices phone numbers and links.

Well nice surprise showed up at my house. Metaltech sliders....now I just need a rig to put them on.....:).

Mike, you really should take pictures of your 80 as the posterchild of what happens when you don't have sliders.

No kidding...and if I keep banging on ledges without some skid protection too, I'll have some more advertising images soon as well!!
