Custom FJ40 bumper

After years of dragging around a piece of 4" X 3" tube steel I finally got started on my rear bumper.

I rented a welder for a back yard project and wanted to get my money's worth out of it.

Looks heavy duty. Is it not a bit long for a 40 though? Unless the width of your mini truck is deceiving.

I made it an inch wider than the body tub of the 40.
I think being on the tailgate of the truck makes it look longer.

I went to Home Depot and rented a welder.

Here is a pic of the rear of my FJ40.
Everything is pretty beat up from years of wheeling.
Which is why I am going with a heavy duty bumper.
