I'm interested in the tried and true best options other than ARB for bull bar front ends that replace the bumper. I know there are a lot of talented fabricators out there but I want to buy something off the shelf. What are the best vetted options on the market as of now? Might go with ARB but just wanted to see what other people like if they were doing it again now or if they have current research they are sitting on... Thank you.

I have always liked the Slee Shortbus but finding them in stock is it's own game. They are also not your cheapest option but then again they are not the most expensive either. If you can weld, this opens up a lot more options in the DIY kits.

Now if you are wanting just a bull bar like or similar to ARB then your options decrease as many are just a slightly different take on the same concept. If this is the case I would find who has the best price/shipping, and in stock and go with that one.

Ironman makes a nice one.

What are you building for? Crawling or over landing? Hard to beat the ARB for over landing or daily use. Good protection and winch support for the roller fair lead. Most crawlers go with something else for approach angle clearance purposes. I’ve had my ARB for 25+ years now, through an encounter with a Dodge pick up that I came through with no damage and damn near took the side of the bed off the pick up. The idiot pulled in front of me on ice and I just couldn’t stop. All I can suggest is: choose wisely.

Great questions - I'm only looking for protection against distracted drivers and unlucky moments, not doing any crawling or worried about approach angles at all...

Wow I must be showing my age!! I remember when the Shortbus bumper was $900. $2100 is a tough pill to swallow. I love Slee's stuff it is always very well thought out, but unfortunately I have had to become a more bargain focused shopper with my toys haha.
man CO has gotten so expensive to live in its no surprise along with the ever rising cost of materials.
When i lived locally to slee there was a bunch of products i was saving up for just to have it raise in price again real pita.

That said to OP, im still a huge short bus fan even for what you want out of it.
