I like Brad's creation the most but I wanted to share a link to a cup holder/console I found on the Rakuten site. Not my style but maybe it will work for others, esp those that smoke. :)

Version 3.0 of the floor model is now done and will get prepped and shipped out to Dan tomorrow. This one should be a much better fit.

Wow! That blends in perfectly will a 70 series interior with all the chrome and bling.

lol Well that is why I like yours way better. Different strokes for different folks though.

I think his goal was to make one that was universal and was equally suited for LHD or RHD.

Is Brad's version only for LHD 70s?
Both the floor and console design will be reversible to be useable with both LHD and RHD versions. The console design is done and fits on both sides. The floor design should be done soon.

All,

I received the center console back that I lent @bhicks so that he can produce the cup holders, he also sent me serial #00001 cup holder. As reference, my cruiser is the RHD 1991 HZJ77, my center console was not OEM, but a replica I got off ebay, which by all accounts seems to be identical to the factory version. Below are pics of it and the cup holders in place. The fit is great, plenty of clearance all the way around and a 100% improvement from before. I recommend anyone with a 70 series contact @bhicks and get yourself one of these pronto.

Here's the pics without a link needed. Looks like all is good and production will start on these in the next day or two.

I need one ! is it going to fit tighter around the shift boots on the LHD ones. To me or is it the camera angle it looks shifted to the side due to the e brake.

After looking at the pics I realized you installed the cup holder reverse of how I designed it. I had the phone slot on the outside. It is reversible so I guess it's up to the owner to figure out which way they like it, but the contours better match up when installed 180 degrees the other way.

Those look amazing! I'd love to see a set for RHD when they're done before I order but I am keenly interested. My 70 is in Japan but I also have a US address to ship to.

Brad- you might consider a Japanese-language sales page for your RHD consoles (you could localize it with Gengo.com cheaply and I'd help proofread.) I have not seen anything like what you've built in Japan and I'd imagine more than a few Japanese Cruiser owners would be interested.

Once I get the floor model cup holder done then I will release them. I'm shooting for the 1st week in March as a release date. Cost will be around $45. I can't get an exact number until I have the 2nd design done and can have an accurate number on material use and print time.

Sounds great. My understanding is these would fit ANY cruiser with the square-ish existing cup indents, for instance, my RHD LJ78? One would hope Toyota made all those different models with the same dimensions for those almost useless stock cup holders. Is that the case?

That is the case. I am hopeful that my cup holder will fit all 70's with the tranny hump/shifter center console for all LHD and RHD models. That model will go out to a few guys that have different model and year 70's with the shifter bezel and let me know if it works on all of them. From the pics I have seen and the research I have done, I am pretty confident it will work on all, but am not 100% yet.
