Picked one of these up to fill the empty single DIN slot in my hotrod (open headers too loud for an actual stereo lol)

Found in mid 90's Ford Taurus'

A nice option for those of you running a single DIN head unit in the stock double DIN slot :)

very cool  I would get one if my CB wasn't already there...

Do you have a pic of it installed in your beast?

Finally, a worthwhile thread!!!!

I wonder if a single DIN cup holder is sort of "universal"!

This is something that I want to do with the stock cd changer in the rear of the console in my LX. I'll be getting a double DIN deck up front (already installed single OEM cup holder in the useless dash pocket spot) and won't need the antiquated changer in the console. I'm not sure if the cd changer occupies a single DIN slot though.

Didn't 90's Toy pickups come with a single DIN in dash cup holder? That might make for a more OEM look as an option.

That looks sleek. Wonder if the quality is any good

For the money they're asking, I'd venture to guess poor quality. But, it's worth taking the risk!

Yes, DIN is a standard measurement, 2.125" x 7.125", I believe. The width is a constant at 7.125", the height is not. A double DIN opening is 2 x 2.125" or 4.250" high x 7.125" wide. I.E. our stock 80 Series Cruiser stereo.

Anything that you desire, aftermarket or other manufacturer's DIN sized cubby holes, cup holders etc., whether it's a double DIN or a pair of single DIN objects, will snugly fill the gap left by your stock stereo.

I just ordered the JB lab's cup holder from Korea, hope it's good.

Nope it was in the dash not the DIN.

so i went and bought one of these last week. finally arrived today. fitment was easy, they got the screw holes in the right place. only problem is that i have a manual and the gear lever bumps the cup holder when selecting 1st gear. quality is on par with something made by landrover, so its gonna rattle like hell. only thing left to check is how well cans, bottles and cups fit in it.

Whats the white cord in the image below?

White cord is my iPod plug for the stereo. Not the best place for it but I don't have many options since my 80 has no centre console.
