Cruise control swap???

*From what I remember, part of the design prevents any excesssive movement of the pedal. If it needs excessive throttle on a long hill it'll usually kick the fault procedure and shut off much like the one on my '95, partly in my case why I had to play with the electrics when I did my auto to manual swap and kept the electric setup versus the mechanical version. I had to maqke it behave as it should with the manual while still getting an auto signal.

**Sorry I didn't chime in sooner, camping was fun and the fishing sucked..1300 miles, over 800 of which were spent in the Sierras. :)

*Also..O/T..Jerrod, thanks for the inspiration for this shot. ;)
Moon and all, but no tree around.

That's some classy stuff right there!

On the CC issue, yes the system kicks off if the speed drops more than 10 or 15 (I forget which) mph below the set speed... The problem I have is the cable is at it's end of adjustment and I still have too much free play before it engages the pedal... Some solution will be found... :D I guarantee it!

Thoughts about tig'n up a l-bracket or similar come to mind, as does a trip to the local motorcycle or farm supply (Grainger maybe?) shop in Medford or closer for a new cable and housing to custom cut down to your needs.

By the way, pics or it didn't happen!! :flipoff2: Let's see this chit man!

The 4 wiring diagrams I used:

Picasa Web Albums - Jerod - Screen Captures

A couple of the wire colors were not the same on the diagram as in real life, but all the pin numbers matched up. On the second diagram the wire coming in from the top going to the main switch labeled L at the # 2 pin comes from the wiper fuse, so it's a switched power.

There's 2 wires on the main switch that go to the courtacy light in the main switch, they are B/W and R/Y.

On the ECU its self I did not use the wires at pins #1, 6, 8, 9, 18. They either had to do with an auto trans, the turbo version, or there was no wire there (#18).

The swap was pretty straight forward, but as I've said if you're not into wiring, it's gonna be a headache! The swap is 75% wiring 25% fitting parts.

Awesome work man...I was just ribbing ya! Anyway, great info & definately something I plan to do down the road...although I've never had a manual car with cruise control...how's that work out?

+10000000 cool points for using lamp cord by the way!

More like "Cheap @$$" points! :D

Cruise with a manual is good. I just wish I had some more torque now.... :D It will get a full workout on the way to the 45 Run in a few weeks. I'll report back!
