With a synthetic line you really dont need this. Never even pulled mine out
I guess but it never hurts to have in the kit just in case.. even if its to use as a ground cloth when you need to kneel down or lay under a rig

Looks clean other than rust in the rain gutters?

That firewall rust kind of scares me but otherwise that's a good cruiser from the pictures.
With no air bags, it’s not really the right truck for them. I hope someone can pick it up.

Did you go look at it? If so, anything else to add?
I did not even take a look. I picked up the 80 Bob posted about. I believe it’s Felix’s old truck

I believe Felix's description of that 80 after getting it and after wheeling his 40 for so long was, "Like wheeling a couch."

Bringing in these foreign owned and licensed isn't a problem since you see the Aussie and Euro overlanders from time to time over here. I guess the question is, can those foreign owners then sell their vehicles in the US while they're here. I'm guessing customs gives these vehicles a window of time they're allowed to stay and be on US roads. If the 25 year embargo expires within that window I'd think they'd then be able to sell the vehicle to a US buyer.

Diplomats can also bring home cars they they purchased overseas. I don't think that they can be resold though

This has got to be a us Customs/ EPA sting

If it's actually a 2010, there's at least an engine swap going on there since the 1VD was not available in LHD 76/78/79s until 2016 or so...

Pictures in what appears to be a RORO unloading dock aren't exactly confidence inspiring (why take them there unless it's a recent import), I bet this is a straight up VIN swap.

I think the first pics could definitely pass for this time of year in MD.
Recent, super-shady import makes a lot of sense.

Anyone recognize that tag design?

That is a solid NO they can not be sold or registered here at all.
There was a big lawsuit against Maltec who builds german overland cruisers and a guy from Colorado. Someone brought one over from germany on a tourist visa and then he bought it and got a title thru colorado and sold it to a couple for a high dollar amount.
They had a blog about their travels and adventures on how much they loved the vehicle and they got a notice from the Colorado DMV and the EPA that the vehicle was not supposed to be here and was not supposed to be titled.
I believe they had the vehicle shipped back to germany and it was redone on a 80 series chassis. There was a thread on mud about it but I am not sure where it went.

What's a Transporter plate?
Allows a company to drive (transport) it to a new location while it's between owners. Similar to the temporary tag some states allow a buyer to get to drive a car home after purchase from another individual.
