Mark (Bluetribal and myself passed the technician exam this morning and will be able to join the big boy radio club soon.

It will be a month or two before I get a radio set-up but at least the exam part is done.

I really need to get off my A$$ and take the test already!

Yeah, I was pretty excited to see that I passed because I didn't seriously start studying until Tuesday night after cruising over to Dan's house to borrow his ARES question book. The online test were not working for me as far as grasping the question and answers. The book basically sections all the questions up into categories and then gives you the multiple choice and then the answer with further description of the answer. So I finally finished the book on Friday night and my fiance quizzed me and I missed like 4 out of 30 that night. Then Saturday morning she quizzed me again and I think I missed 2 out of 15. So come test time Dan obviously studied much harder than I did and breezed through it and was like the first one done. I still had 9 more questions but took my time and even though I had 2 questions that I had never seen and one for sure I missed after talking to Dan it was enough to pass.
So I would totally recommend the ARES study book over the online quiz. But everybody learns differently.

Congrats!
It would be interesting what call signs you guys get. Teejnuts KJ6BBW will be difficult beat.

The VEC told me to start looking on Thursday for my call sign. If I get one with BBW SWF ASS GAY etc. in it I am putting in for a vanity call sign.:D

As reference - I got my license last July at KI6SGO.

Who says amateur radio is a dying hobby. They're flying thru the alphabet! No code requirement has revived the hobby.
