a little higher than plastic guns

I don't really like it actually. I like the plastic guns. Anyone ever shot the small Ruger 9mm?

Ruger® LC9s® * Centerfire Pistol Models

Never shot it, but the dealer by house where I have bought a few guns carries them. The owner of the shop loves them and wouldn't shut up about how they are great guns for the money and that he bought one everyone in his family, etc... They make them in goofy colors (like pink), which would be good for you:

I don't think he was selling me a bunch of b.s., because I was actually holding a more expensive gun in my hand (the Glock 23) when he went off on his pitch.

Sounds like another charcoal vs gas debate.
This one is too big for your hands @wngrog

Plastic guns - I held a Springfield XDMod2 at Woods & Water in AL; it was a 3 in subcompact 9mm. Was impressed w/ how it felt - the grips are part of why it's a Mod2 - and got the 4 in service model Not had a chance to fire it yet so this is a partial recommendation, but your welcome to try it out

If Mardis wants my hammerless Smith, I am going to get Red a small 9mm auto. I just don't see her enjoying the .38 snub at all. I have been shooting it trying to like it and I am getting better with it, but I don't see her digging it much.

Plastic 9mm will be about as bad as a snub .38 I'd say, maybe worse. My experience with the .380 and 9mm small poly guns is they are the "will do in a pinch but not a Saturday shooter" guns. No mass to offset recoil. Heavier frame, or smaller caliber. Mine carries a keltec .32 daily. I carry a P238, but have been looking at the 938 as an upgrade.

True, but if it keeps one on her hip I'm ok with having to keep a few more around. Erin went from a .38 ultra lite to a micro eagle to her current keltec. Her backup is a derringer .22 mag. That is her cycling and running carry.

P238 is a great piece.
Laura carries it and can shoot accurate with one hand. Very small recoil. I'm just not a believer in the ballistics.

9mm is minimum stopping power. IMHO
However, packing something like 380 is millions x better than nothing.

Whatever, hammer, knife, etc.. works too.

22 will not break through jackets and clothing layers like a 9mm.

Don't be dumb
