Sounds like the individual route is good for me.
What's the difference between the $300 and $1400 HW?

What are good 556 and 762 suppressors for the budget minded?

I don't know what you are talking about with the $300 and $1400... etc..

I have a silencerco Omega 7.62, but I haven't shot it yet. There's a trade off for everything, but I'd look at the silencerco Omega and Specwar in the sub $1000 space. The specwar is cheaper, I think it's rated for shorter barrels, but it is also a lot bigger and heavier. Both use the same muzzle device, which is going to run you $75~ per. But there are so many options out there now, and I haven't researched the subject in a year. Go to silencer shop's website, read some reviews, check their prices, watch some videos... if something interests you, google it and watch more videos... whatever you buy, you are going to own it for the rest of your life (or its).. so spend some time looking at cans, reading reviews, etc.. and get something you are reasonably confident that you will be happy with.

Just reading a little about this guy.... 6.8 SPC round. Never heard of it but it looks like a sweet upgrade and you can still use the AR15 platform?

Requires a different Bolt and the LWRC uses a proprietary lower and mag designed in conjunction with MagPul as reliability is somewhat suspect out of a standard 5.56 magazine. The bolts tend to be more fragile as well because they have to mill out the breech face for the larger cartridge. Outside of that I have no hands on experience with the round.

I'd probably go with something less of a pain in the ass and doesnt require a different bolt and mags... such as a .300blk (5.56) or a 6.5 Creedmoor (.308).

I can't answer that. I'd rather pay once/hurt once, than go budget, buy a stamp, wait a year, get it and be disappointed and then have something you can't (reasonably) sell. Again, research the cans in your price range that seem to interest you. The internet is full of reviews on this stuff. I just don't have enough experience with cans to say, "hey, this is the best value on the market". My research at the time lead me to believe that the Omega was the best value when I bought... but I still haven't shot mine, so I cant even tell you how awesome or not awesome it is. I would definitely go 7.62 can over 5.56 due to flexibility of the 7.62 cans..

Maybe Andrew will pop in and be able to offer you some more/better advice, he tends to play more in this arena than I do.

I know I'm in TN, so this may not be a fair question, but any idea roughly what a proper trust would run to set up. Just curious.

A trust is the way to go.

You can find very cheap and just as effective examples online.

Do yourself a favor; make the first stamp you get be a .22 Suppressor. Besides Full-Auto, a .22 Can is the most fun you will have with NFA. You wanna know REAL FUN? That's right, a Full-Auto .22

Belt fed is fun too, but I just love full-auto suppressed .22's. Now, I will also add that a Thompson is fun, but its not fun to try and control. A UZI is also extremely enjoyable.

If you are looking for a local NFA dealer, IM me. I have a great dealer who is a super nice guy, who loves to spread the NFA love when you come over to visit.

I agree, go with the trust.

I live in TN as well and that is what I did as the formal way is a pain in Memphis.

To set up the trust I used a third party that my local class III dealer recommended. So far after two items, no issues.

Yeah, Chef just got the Trust set up. I'm on the trust so I am about to get a .44 can to do a sub-sonic doe killing machine.

I have a Ruger 10/22 that has a suppressed barrel that just looks like a bull barrel. It is really nice to have. I whack stuff with it all the time and no one knows its going down.

Back to the .223 and deer deal, I just mowed though a pack of pit bulls with my suppressed .22 this afternoon. I got 4 before they knew it was going down. That puts the number at 10 Pit Bulls I have killed roaming my farm in the last 3 months. Crazy.

I paid $200 or so, but as @MScruiser mentioned you can do it yourself. I just would rather have an attorney do it.

Well that is definitely not bad, and I did some reading on them last night and while I don't know that I will ever have a crazy arsenal, I have pondered a SBR and it sounds like that might make that process a little less painful. Also, the main reason I was looking at an SBR was because the had asked about having a rifle that had a more manageable barrel length for her (shes only 4'10" and likes to throw lead) so that would make it better for us all the way around as far as legal possession.

Cleaned up the BFR today and this serial number traces back to 1994.
This thing is barely shot from the looks of the rifling.
Looks very new for over 20 years old.
Nothing like the feel of this gun in your hand. Incredible American ingenuity. Makes my 1911 feel like a pea shooter.

Laura carries the 380. It's not the best defense Rd but she feels comfortable. So it's a good Rd for the womens I guess.
