M & P Shield by S & W. 9MM. Been looking for a smaller 9 for concealed carry for awhile now. It was between this, Glock 43 and Sprinfield XDS. Found a good deal on this one, so went with it. Also, I like the way it fits my hand, especially with the larger clip.

Ive got it in a .40. Love it. Breaks down easily, fits my hand well. Like you, the 7 round mag is great.

Just about any gun you want... just add crimson trace

Exactly what I have my eye open for. Let me know how you like it after some use

XD9 Sub-Compact. Was my moms. She never used it so its mine now.

Yeah, @Bossman, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3 guns mentioned for a compact 9. My law school roommate owns 2 gun ranges in Atlanta (teaches classes, etc..) and he recommended those 3 guns to me. He told me to hold them & preferably shoot them (didn't have the opportunity to do the latter, so I just went with feel in my hand and price). The glock 43 runs about $450.00. The Shield is about $370-$400, and I'm not sure what the Springfield Armory XDS runs, but they are nice (see Mardi's above). These are all "good" guns at a reasonable price.

A couple of things with these smaller defense guns is lack of recoil and being able to control the gun. Weight, barrel length, and some other stuff I don't know about factor into that. The glock definitely felt heavier in may hand, but I did not like the way it felt.

Here is a youtube video on the Shield. Once I fire off some rounds with it, I'll let you know more.

The Sig P938 is worth a look.
4x6x1 dimensions
7+1 rd capacity
Price is a little higher.
Goes with me everywhere in the front pocket and no one knows.
All metal frame too!

And I just thought you were happy to se me.

Yeah, I have checked out the Glock and the Shield last time I was in Monroe, LA. Unfortunately our idiotic gun laws make buying out of state (25-30 miles from my house) problematic. My local shop only carries the Shield with the cheap feeling plastic thumb safety which I do not want so I'll probably have to wait till my next trip to Little Rock 2.5 hours away to find my deal :(

The crimson trace aren't really add-on, matter of fact the Kimber your referring to most likely has a set of crimson trace grips on it.

Crimson Carry 2, borrowed from the Kimber website. They are made custom for the Kimbers, but they make grip lasers for other pistols too. The grip laser is gonna be the least obvious, most others I've seen mount under barrel in a rail.

Yep, he was too lazy to look and I was too lazy to tell more.

@Bomar, post up a pic of that XDS 45...that's what I want next.

The XD above is the sub compact...not the single stack XDS model. Similar, but a tad bit bigger.

you can come by and look at mine. Thats what I use at the gas stations in Jackson...
