Sure. Kills people all the time.

I would not it to shoot at a trophy even though it would kill the chance of wounding high.

I used to hunt with a 22-250 in the doe slaughterer days of my youth. I probably killed 200-300 with it.

Killed one this weekend with 223, but what Nolen said. Would be nervous if shooting at a big buck.

223 is more than enough for a whitetail buck or doe. Muleys get a bit bigger so might want to step it up a bit to be safe when hunting them. That said, I have taken several Elk with a 270 loaded hot and most would call that round too small too.

And I've had them run off with near perfect 7 mag shots.

depends on your local jurisdiction and how NFA friendly your Sherriff, or other "CLEO" is to NFA stuff.

For me, a trust is the way I went. Being that you are in Alabama, I don't have anyone to recommend you to. I do believe that silencer shop will do one for you. Probably best to get a rec from a local dealer there.

The benefits of a trust are pretty significant.
A. you don't have to get printed and photographed for each form you submit.
B. You can build SBR's or Silencers on a Form 1 via "e-forms" which usually knocks months off the wait times.
C. Your wife or whoever can be on the trust and have access to the suppressor as well. where as if you own it as an individual and your wife has access to it, it is technically a felony.
D. In a lot of jurisdictions, a trust or corporation is the ONLY way to legally acquire a NFA item because the CLEO's will not sign off on a form 1 or form 4.

The drawbacks of a trust should be weighed as well.
A. They can be costly to set up.
B. Not everybody knows what they are doing when setting one up.
C. Obama is trying to kill the trust vehicle and/or make it more cumbersome than just going the individual route.

So if buying a suppressor, make sure to factor in the cost of a trust, a $200 tax stamp, and any brand specific muzzle devices that you need to even use the thing into the equation. If you do go the trust route, I would advise a short, simple, non identifying name for the trust as you will have to have it engraved on a SBR when you build one... and you will build one... or 3... and counting.

Sounds like the individual route is good for me.
