I've got a Marlin 81, 22" barrel, bolt action, tube feeding, synth stock, iron sights. It's my favorite 22 long gun.
The latest iteration is called the 981 and the 983 is the 22WMR version. Not as handsome as the Rugers, but priced right and a longer sight radius makes it a great plinking gun.

What set up do you have in your vehicle?
Center console, map pocket, bn seat and console

Im considering mounting a holster under steering column or in console for access.

This is for a sub compact ill leave in vehicle.

i just bought a g-code set up like this... Edge Works RTI Vehicle Mounting System

however, i know a guy who just yesterday had his stolen, out of...guess what, and F150........he didnt have the g code one, but similar.....

i hide my pistol that i leave in the cruiser when i get out.....carry the other with me everywhere..... g code incog IWB holster....its the shizz...been through about 10 different ones....this one is TOP NOTCH....

The first gun I ever bought was a Sig 226. Still have it. Extremely comfortable and reliable.

All 3 manufacturers make good guns, you still need to get out and hold them, shoot them, and see how it feels. If it sucks to shoot or the controls interfere with your grip, etc.. you won't enjoy shooting it. If you don't enjoy shooting it, you wont shoot it. And if you won't shoot it, you'll never become competent with it. If you are not competent with it, you might as well just carry a big ass rock in your pocket.
