I have it marked in my manual. I don't recall where I initially found that spec, but it's correct. If you want to verify, start snooping around and sifting through manuals. I already did that 3 years ago to find the spec. It's very time consuming.
Ive been wading through quite a few, the 2f engine manual, the 1983 maintenance procedures, the 1980+ body and chassis, the 1984 body and chassis, fj60 supplement to the 1984...

Since getting into the world of Cruisers, I’ve found the documentation to be lacking. The “design” of the documentation is such that each system is documented independently to accomodate the many different system combinations Toyota had around the world. Unfortunately that leads to nothing about how the systems are mounted/attached together as one.

As for the oil cooler, there is simply a picture of the circuit in the 2F manual, and that is it.

I pulled mine awhile back (as well as the oil filter bracket too) and replaced the o-rings and the gaskets (copper rings) and painted it... @OSS helped me along with it but I had that page noted in my pile of fsm's as well. They are wonking 27mm socket too. Pretty stout cool looking bolts to have in your hand. I did not pull the relief valve.

Funny its making me see why that lower coolant hose it dripping on mine. Looks about right that my s***ty worm gear clamp is right on the raised part of the pipe that comes off the cooler. Now I can see it clear as day and will add a new clamp and shift that on off from where its situated.

if you have old hoses and old clamps etc....you might need to look at changing a number of hoses and related parts all at the same time.

Did you have the oil cooler powder-coated or is that some other type of coating ? It looks good. What parts did you tape off/not tape off prior to having it painted ? I've never looked at one off the engine so just kind of wondering for when I do mine.

I just scoured it well by hand then primed it and added a second coat of enamel. I taped off the ports and the pipes.

This is on my list of things to eventually get to. My side cover leaks slightly so I got lots of frame protectant on that side of the engine and all over the oil cooler and various other items.

The only info about the oil cooler is that there is a copper washer behind each of the big banjo bolts and a rubber O-ring on the other side placed in the groove. The two big banjo bolts should be torqued to 47 ft-lbs.

When pricing out new oil cooler hoses it seems that hose 15777A and 15777 from the pipe to the cooler are now being sold as the same part number = 99555-30280. It doesn't look to me that these two are of the same shape. Any experience with using the same hose for both connections ?

At this stage in the game, Toyota often consolidates parts for the FJ60 that fit "close enough". 99555-3280 is now the correct hose for both ends of the oil cooler. Those are the ones I used. Fits fine. Drawing is deceptive.

Is there a gasket that has to be purchased separately from the water pump itself for a water pump install ? I purchased a new OEM pump but there was not a gasket included. I didn't see a separate one on the parts drawing I looked at which seems odd to me.
Very weird that the gasket didn’t come w/ it. I might have an extra cuz I ordered one when I bought my Aisin from rockauto but one came w/ it. Lmk. I can toss it in an envelope if you want it.
