Can I get the procedure on how my parking brake will be tested on my 80? I don't think I have a 3rd gear or a three speed tranny. And what are service brakes?
I want to test out at home.

Changed out my rear driveshaft this morning and adjusted e-brake.Got all lights working yesterday and changed out my dead front shocks on Sunday.

Chris,I think with the auto,as long as the truck doesn`t jump forward with the e-brake and you take your foot off the brake pedal your good.In otherwords it needs to hold the truck.

Chris,

Do your brakes work?
Does your handbrake work?

You better hope you don't get me as an inspector. I KNOW your truck is all f*cked up ;)
Thanks for the warning. I will be sure to avoid you.

Thanks Dave. Will test out.

It's 100 in Pine Grove right now. Gonna be warm and they are calling for some t-storms...OK slight chance of t-storms. But it maybe a welcome change.

thanks...
right now it is 32C (89.5F) but with the humidex it feels like 44C (111.5F)

humidity, disgusting.

dry heat, lovely.

so is it a dry heat there or a humid, clothes sticking to your body, water pouring down your back heat?

Schwetty ballz ... thermo in the streetmobile says its 105 out there right now, but hey, we're goin' wheelin'! All I gotta do is get mini truck running (carb, wires, etc), swap on Swampers, do some welding, tune CB antenna, groceries, pack gear & trailer ... I need a nap.

Getting ready to roll out, hope to be on the road by 11:00PM tonight... Drive thru the night and get there sometime after lunch on Friday.

Should be just be breaking the 1,000 mile mark when pulling into camp...

See you all there,
-Al

Heat and more heat

Hot as heck!!! Thermo on the Pine Grove Bank said 100 when we came down from Rausch Creek. Great time though! Made Milk Shake 2 years ago. Thought with the water down a litle I might do it again. No Go! 33's aint enough anymore.

More fun

Another good day. Not as hot. Nice speech and presentation by Albert Podell who did the trip and wrote the book: "who needs a road" at the campground. Cool stuff to be able to do that journey. Another cell pic of my son. No chance to download camera pics yet.
