depends on your use.

Extreme off road, yeah I'd go $$$

For everyday use, and you know how to use one, you could just put an old clutch in as long as it's got material. :D

If it's cheap it'll show not for too long, then you can just rip it and go get your money back. If it's ok and you know how to use it (the clutch) you can prolly 100,000 + miles out of it.

remember, this in not HD use like 4 wheeling every day or weekend.

I just get a clutch kit... The most expensive one they try to sell you. Then stay off it as much as possible... what you're supposed to do with a clutch anyhow. But I don't 4Wheel and pull a heavy load often.

no way,
I put in a cheap clutch kit once.
once was all it took.
worked fine going down the road.
got a little buried in a dirt field and even in low range first gear it would smoke rather then turn the tires. Dirt was not even to the rim yet.
they were only 33 inch tires.
never again will I waste my time to put in a cheap part like that.

maybe I just got a bad one.

marlin's heavy duty or stock is what I am going with on my next change.

i have used beck arnley parts before not their clutches, i have not had any major issues with their parts, i am sure that it is a replacement clutch i would think that it is built to oem specs, but can not verify.
and it is fine to ask but we do not know how you use your truck, check out marlins clutches they have a pound spec and then compare that to the napa clutch, and how you use your truck. and that should help you make up your mind.

I'm beginning to think the OP is a troll pimpin' NAPA parts.

The Marlin clutch is good, I've used them, there's one in my son's 4Runner now. I also prefer the OEM ones. Never used a Centerforce in any flavor, I hear good things about them.

I also learned my lesson the hard way with cheap clutches. It was in 1991 and it still pisses me off.

does anyone know the difference, if there is any in a clutch plate with bushings in the center Vs. one with springs?

Seems like the bushings could lose their elasticity faster and could even fall out...

Or am I just thinking too much?

I don't think I've ever had one with bushings in it and I might have even took one back b/c it did... It just doesn't seem right to me.

The cheap POS clutch I bought in 1991 from AutoZone had bushings on the clutch disk only. I didn't know the difference at the time, so I put it in. It lasted 1500 miles and the bushings disintegrated, all the washers fell out, no more clutch.

I took it back in pieces with the receipt, and the guy tried to give me another one. Yah, I don't think so.
