It's easy... If I had an extra flywheel, and I do, I'd get it resurfaced and not come out from under the truck till I finished the whole deal.

Take yer shifters out up top, remove the starter, remove the down tube bracket and pipe from the collector(3 14mm IIRC), remove the drive shafts (coat hanger/ bungee the front or both to the frame), remove the slave cylinder, remove the bolts holding the TC mount from under the X member(4 12mm bolts IIRC), lower the tranny and remove the X member altogether, and reach up and get all yer bellhousing bolts. Pull'er back, pop'er off and slap'er back together in reverse order:hillbilly:

Make sure you remove the batt terminals... And you can leave a bolt holding it to the engine in the BH till you get ready to pull it... And there is a hidden bolt on the D-side that bolts from the front of the truck to the rear... And you can use bread or grease to get the pilot shaft bearing out. Use a dowel if ya got one, the threads of a bolt suck b/c they don't exactly seal... but will work...

uh uh uh... It's been a while since I done it...

Replace your rear main seal while you're there.

IMPORTANT: If this a V6 we're talking about here, YOU MUST use lock tight or some type of sealer on the flywheel bolts. IIRC, the flywheel bolt holes are drilled completely through on a V6 crank, on a 22R they are not.

If you don't seal the bolts it will leak oil 5 minutes after you get it running. (or at least mine did)

Just thought I'd say...

I'm looking at a clutch kit on the Napa site and one on the Advance site. Both have the same stock photo.

The Napa clutch kit is brand new, says it's made by Napa... Part No. NNC MU476281

The Advance one says it's made by Perfection. Again, brand new... And it's $4 cheaper... Part No. MU47628-1

(see the part #'s?)

So I'd say Napa clutches, well also depending on the quality at least, are Perfection clutches...

If that means anything.

I would be interested to know who makes marlin's heavy duty clutch kit.
that is what I am going with next time I need one.
My Marlin clutch came out of a Seco box which is a oem manufacturer. While it is a supposedly heavier duty clutch than the oem Aisin clutch it's physical dimensions and weight are actually smaller when placed beside each other on the workbench. Hopefully I will get 180,000 miles out of this one also.
