Clutch Alignment tool hack (1 Viewer)

Well as it turns out I ordered the incorrect clutch alignment tool and couldn't stand to wait for the correct one to be shipped. As it turns out a Yellow highlighter with the cap ever so slightly ground down as well as the shaft wrapped with some painters tape worked ABSOLUTELY perfectly. I kid you not.

I used a section of broom handle. As long as the splines are indexed and the clutch plate is concentric, you're good to go. Nice work on the 'fab'

Like above I used a broom handle and turned down the tip to fit into the pilot bearing, I still have it and have used it a few times. Nothing fancy needed. Lol

In a pinch, you can also use a Chevy clutch alignment tool. Just about any parts store has them. You just have to file the splines to the same taper as Toyota uses. Did this in 98 and have used the same modified tool on a few engine/transmission swaps since then.
