Todays random thought: do the tops come with detailed installation instructions? What type of adhesive is used to bond the top to the Troopy? (I’m just excited)

I have detailed instructions, to include a video. Did I share the google drive link with you? I not, DM me your email and I will share.

I though the sky light was cool, but was expecting more like $500-600 for adding it on, not $1600.

I assume it requires quite a bit of structural bracing, etc. Seems cool, but also seems like a long term leaking problem like a sunroof.

Good point on both effort/cost of fabricating it and on potential for leaks. I am going to pass on the sky ligh.

Yeah, we are in the same boat. Were expecting 1/3 of that cost and not thinking too much about fabrication and leaks. We are also going to pass.

Also, could you share the drive with the video?

Received potential shipping quotes. Charlston on the East Coast, Los Angeles on the west coast.

West coast shipping estimate is ~$750/person for container shipping if they can fit 4 tops in one container.

East Coast is ~$800/person for container shipping if we get the third east coast top. Otherwise it's ~$1200/person.

Again, realize that these quotes INCLUDE customs brokerage prices and everything else associated with importing things from overseas. For those who didn't do the dirty work on importing their own troopy, customs brokerage is a huge pain in the ass. This is a really good price "all in".

Air freight pricing is double the container shipping options.

I have uploaded the conversion instructions on the third post in this thread. I'll also attach here for posterity.

For the Versa Box, does the price cover the pieces for both back doors?

I'm pretty sure it's just the right side door box, but be pleasantly surprised if it is both?

ok, their picture on their flyer has both LH and RH door pics and one price stated, so it's a bit unclear.

Versa box includes both sides for that price. Just got confirmation from Cassiem

Not sure if this was already asked, but does Cassiem do any awnings or provide info on what awnings work with his pop top? I know Alucab has options for the Hercules, but also curious in other South African brands like the Bush Company and their 270 owning.

I'll ask when I submit the build sheets.

Waiting on @LCMoneyPit to send me theirs to get to 6 total tops and the 20% discount.

@Owyhee Jackass please confirm you're out.

I don't think they do awnings per se, but you can mount just about any awning with brackets. Cassiem can include brackets, but you need to know the spacing between the T-slots on the awning you want to mount. Typical awnings double slot distances are 55 mm and 100 mm. I'll be mounting a Rhino-Rack 270 to my top with brackets from Alu-Innovations. They sent the wrong size for my awning so I had to get some SS plate to bolt to the bracket.

Alu-cab makes a nice although somewhat complicated bracket for the shadow awning. If I had known these were available I probably would have gotten the Alu-Cab brackets. Mission 4x4 in Australia make very nice looking brackets for the Kronos top, but probably not a viable solution for US customers.

Here's Alu-cab's awning mounting instructions:
