Made my own paper gasket and measuring tool the small difference in measuring with and without the gasket does make a difference with the booster push rod adjustment, Bled brakes and changed fluid from dot 4 to dot 3, am sure that the dot 4 caused the seals in master cylinder to fail and dump the brake fluid into the booster. I now have the best brakes ive ever had. Master cylinder i got was a protex i will rebuild the old aisin master cylinder i have and keep as a spare and just wait for the booster to fail after it was full off brake fluid and get that rebuilt.

Thanks Matt i have ordered the rebuild kit have been told its a 3 week wait for a genuine aisin kit as is a few Chinese knock off kits about im happy to wait as it will be just kept as a spare master cylinder

you DO NOT have to assemble with brake fluid and get all messy

look for full synthetic food service grade dielectric grease , its going to be at a marine place like boats

you can assemble , without the fluid monkey buisness and keep your fresh paint looking snappy

it wont harm paint

it will preserve all coated services , like you rebuild older aisin you have and store ina air tight plastic bag if you follow me

pre-kote all rubber and metal parts , this stuff i use to assemble and re-key new and used toyota key locks

its a wonder l product and safe too

ill post here pics in a moment

No petroleum by products

Good on rear wheel cylinder cups too to assemble ow rebuild and store long term like your AISIN master
Pjct

to be clear you can;t eat it 😅

For those of you with older 40's and CR's booster, what did you do about the vertical rib on the firewall? Bigger spacer?

Looks plenty strong and hard to avoid a spacer if you’re using a booster.

Only issue is some carbs interfere with the master. 80 series master is shorter than a 40’s.

Usually problem is with 2F carbs.

SST Question: I bought an adjustment tool off of amazon for $10, but the rod in the middle is longer than the two others. That doesn't seem right. I believe I now need to trim that down so it's exactly the same length as the two sides of the H. Can anyone confirm? Just installed new CityRacer brake booster and the difference is night and day. But trying to get the pushrod length dialed in.
