That's a good starting point.

BTW, I will have you know that I WHEELED my orange ruck last night! Been since freaking march! Oh man, it has me motivated all over again!! Time to add me some more lights of the LED persuasion.

I did actually try that. I read somewhere that the symptoms could be secondary to a mal adjusted shift cable... But.... I'm using the lokar link shifter. It DOES seem that there is something Mis aligned. That was why I asked about an adjustment. When shifting by hand (w/ the rig off) the shifter input doesnt move any further. Could there be an internal adjustment?
When I put it in park while running, there is a grind! I'll have to pull a trans line and see if the pump is working.
I think it is cuz there was a leak at the trans cooler at the back of the rig, so I would think there is function there.

I'll be really pissed if I have to pull that bitch out!!! That'll be a huge pain in the ass!!!

Go check both tcases again. Did you make sure the split tcase was put back together right?

Okay... My current findings....
Had just a few minutes this am as we have to do the festive holiday s*** today...
So I re checked the fluid, it was full to the hot mark when cold. Cranked her up.
Last night I pulled the seat, cradle teams tunnel and dc'd the shift linkage. While running, I tried shifting by hand. Nothing! But... I could hear a faint whine between the 203 and and the tail shaft as my I was leaning into the rig and my ear was right down by the 203.
HERE'S WHER IT GETS INTERESTING!!!
So I shifted the 203 lever FORWARD, what I THOUGHT was into low gear. It sort of whined a bit... So I shifted the lever forward again.... THE FUC@KING RIG went INTO REVERSE and started reversing toward the HOUSE!!!!! I managed to find neutral, but I was about a foot away from hitting the cabinet!!!!
Heart thumping. I shut the rig off and walked away as the wife needed me to do some stuff. Now that is TWICE dumb luck has pleasantly resulted in positive resolutions, NOT before SCARING the s*** out of me!!! :)
If only some one could have seen the look on my face, I guarantee it would have been priceless!!!
Holy s***.... I thought I was gonna back right into the house!!!

As far as I know... It's back together correctly. 4wd engages and I check the hi/ low revolutions after re assembled.

looks like the 203 is currently at fault ;)

I would agree with a transfer case issue, the grinding when placing in park is telling us it is still spinning along like it is when going down the road. Something is missing the connecting point to allow it to continue to spin.
Could be the drive shafts are leaning against the wall but we know that's not the issue. all of the axles are intact along with pinon gears so it isolates to transfer case (s)

Well I guess he got it figured it out ... SWEET

NOT SO FAST!!!!
This is a weird deal to say the least.
YES...It does drive! However, there are still issues.
After I got her out and drove her around the block a few times and got the trans fluid squared away. I realized that the 203 actually was in low gear in the forward position as I had set it. I shifted the 203 to the high gear, and again...I lost ALL GEARS on the trans...gears were grinding all over on both the trans and the 203 trying to get them BACK into the CURRENT driving position.
So driving over to rusty dans house, I could not go over what I suspected was greater than 30 MPH. I may have to empty the 203 and see what it happening inside the box.
I am BAFFLED as to what is happening.

HOWEVER...I am just tickled I got to drive my rig around a bit today after TWO PLUS YEARS of dreaming about it!!!!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:
It felt SOOOO GOOD!!
There was a bit of a death wobble driving over to dans and Im hoping its a balance issue or an alighnemnt issue. I DID NOT put a steering stabilizer on...actually hoping NOT to, but...if I need to, I will.

Because it was in low gear, I unfortunately could not stretch her out that much to see what shes got.

The temp gauges arent working, nor is the fuel level sender. Im hoping that might just be due to the fact that i only put about 3 gal in her and its just not reading...I can HOPE, right!:D

GREAT DAY!

Post a current pic of your split case range lever Keith. If you're missing the washer below the lever then that very well could be the problem.
If not, then I'd go after the 203grb.

Georg,
After I talked to you, I got home and checked the split case, and i did put it back in. I put it underneath the factory lever.
I'll grab a pic of the whole set up and that plug that is underneath the 203.

Thanks again for the call!
Relieved that it's not the trans!!

GREAT DAY!

Alignment will not cause a wobble issue. Only tire wear or a possible pull one way or another.

As for the steering stabilizer... Ram assist, best stabilizer you can get.

Let me know if you want to borrow my hillbilly alignment tool, I did the 60 then paid a shop to do it and I was dead nuts on with the home brew method.

We'll get together on the gauges sometime this week.

Cool! Cool!

Hillbilly alignment tool isn't that a tape measure??

Nice to see it move thanks for the vid rusty....

I cut a couple of pieces of angle iron and drilled a hole in the center so you can attached them to the hub. It just makes it easier to use the tape measure. Kind of stupid but what can I say, I was killing time waiting for the paint to dry on my tie rod drag link after I replaced the TRE's.

The screw heads are set up for 28" and 33", the angle iron is 36" long total
