This is me on my first ride around the block

I think I smiled like that for a week

We just need to give him more s***, or help him with his other truck.

first things first, congrats keith 2 years and a lot of hours later glad it was something simple.. I will stop by after the holiday and check it out or help with the water pump....

and I will have both of you know.... I spend the day taking apart and cleaning a turbocharger, and mocking a new downpipe. so there.,:flipoff2: have a few more things to do then back to the crusier...

at least my truck started on the first try..:D:D
pumped a gallon of oil on the ground before I could shut it off but it started...:frown::frown:(turbo oil return was off:bang:...80psi of oil pressure moves alot of oil....). good thing it holds 3+ gallons....

The Youtube video doesn't do it justice, she sounds great.

She's pretty throaty. Im just glad its not TOO loud. I remember camping at wentworth and hearing the LOUD V8's on the granite bowl in the middle of the night. That would just get annoying to me and you guyz having to listen to that all day.

Congrats!!!

Coming up quick!!! Honestly can NOT wait for that either! Ive BRIEFLY driven TWO 40's. NEVER my own. Its all gonna be so new to me. I got to know my old FJ62 pretty well, and Im very excited to learn how to wheel a 40 now. Im anticipating a learning curve of sorts, especially with a motor that will actually POWER the vehicle and Im MOST EXCITED to wheel with dual cases. For the last few years Ive watched Rusty and others with their super deep gearing just sort of lazily stroll through obstacles on the trail....Cant wait to see how that is for myself.

Oh yeah...
in addition to the water pump, the alternator is bad too....:bang:

Im not sure if the water pump or the gasket is bad...However, may as well replace it NOW while Im gonna have it off.
Suck part is, Ill have to re drill and tap the new one for the steam port. I feel like I JUST DID THAT!?!?!?!

You didn't really think it was going to be that easy, did you?

At least those are fairly easy to replace.

The only time you will probably hear that glasspac is when you get on it. Long glasspacs are actually pretty quiet at idle and mid throttle (cruising), it's not until you get on them that they bark. One of my previous trucks had dual exhaust with 24" glasspacs and it was very mellow unless you got on it. Then it sounded oh so nice. I used to get near the jersey wall with the window down and give the juice just to hear it. Love the sound of a singing v8.

Well... I was hoping. Can't expect too much considering the pulley components were RAW parts, I suppose.
So many things to look forward getting into driving this. :)

That is just awesome to see

FYI, my G8 has an LS3, they like to vibrate and "rock" at idle. It will become very apparent with the AA motor mounts. This is completely normal though as these motors make a ridiculous amount of power for what they are and that comes with some trade offs.

Wow... That is actually really good info! I was wondering about that. Also, I didn't even think about the design of those mounts either.

Rig won't shift into gear!!!!!
WTF!?!?!????

Is the round plug in the tranny seated all the way

I believe it is!
Is there a shift adjustment, or is it all... Automatic via the ECU?
When I take it out of park and put it back into park... It grinds going back into park.
Freaking out a bit on this. Gotta be honest!

Mine was loose when I swapped the tranny and it wouldn't shift... Mine has both

Do tell!
What's the adjustment you have on that!?

transfer case or reduction box may be in neutral??? that is why it grinds when you put it back in park....

My arm on the drivers side has a adjustable cable mount it sucks To get the shifter to match the trans .. Most of the time I still count

Good idea

Negative in the t case in neutral unless I am waaaaaayyy off.
Btw.... And I didn't think of this either... The rig rolls while in park????
I pulled the trans hump again and d/c'd the shift linkage, and there is no adjustment on the trans mechanical arm, so theoretically, the trans is in park.
Anything electronic??
I did notice that the NSS engages when in reverse.... Not neutral, but I think that is more of an adjustment on the lokar shifter.

I was all set to take her for a spin!!!!

That sucks, it seems like one step forward and 3 steps back.
Hope you get this sorted out and start enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Good luck.
Still you will be driving her way before mine.
