So what? nothing happening at all now?
:flipoff2:

I'm hating this part of the build!!!!
I spend more time driving around finding little bull s*** parts than I do anything else.
Right now it's getting the brake lines squared away.
Remember how we talked about the retaining clips, with AN adapters???
Well, that turned into a whole thing. I ended up drilling out some fender washers to use as the top side retainer and a standard brake clip on the bottom to hold everything in place.

Ahhh the nickel and dime ya to death home stretch .... When you wonder if the light at the end of the tunnel is really a train about to run your ass over ;)

Looking good keep it up

Its not even that so much as it is just trying to FIND this little crap.
For example...as pointed out earlier by espressomon...the plastic fittings CAN fail. I got to thinking about that and opted to find a metal alternative to go through the fire wall...I figured THAT would be the WORST and will also likely see the most stress. Now...try to find a 5/8 in barbed hose coupler/ elbow that is METAL!!!! Have to order it after spending a few trips trying to find it locally. See, you have to actually GO to the parts store, cuz often times the counter jockey has NO IDEA what it is youre looking for if you call.
But yes...the nickel and diming is KILLING ME too! I have a crap ton of returns that I have to make too that Ill have to take a day to do and re coop some cash.:crybaby:

It's been 2 years... I'm still working on little s*** :(

RT customs???
Was that the dude that was doing all the vortec swaps a few years back and then just sort of disappeared???
That sucks! If thats the same guy, he was using that crappy FIS harness company that everyone was having problems with. Have you been able to track anything down?

Yup traded a built 85 excab for the job:( ... On mine he used a techrod harness and they have really helped in tracking miss wiring down, live and learn right , I'm really good a wiring now

Yes the cocksucker that lives in Irving over here by me. Since it all came to light he hasn't so much as shown his face at any meeting and he never went to any events and still doesnt.

He is still apparently fxxxing people over too! Another local to the area (and also one of our troops over seas recently back on deployment) posted a picture on FB of Randy's FJ62 with 4" lift springs and a SOA on 38.5's with about 4 feet or wheel well clearance and his roof rack with shovel, axe, pick, and crap that will never be used and even less of a chance since he DOESN'T WHEEL even tho he claims to. Anyhow after Kyle (military guy) posted the pic I made a comment on it and we got to talking and Kyle was a day away from dropping his 60 of with Randy to do a Vortec swap to the tune of about $10k or a little more. I had him call me long story short there is still a truck in pieces where Randy has his "shop" that has been there for like 6 years now. It was torn apart 2 years ago when Joel picked up his truck and after talking to Kyle it is still apparently in the same disrepair as it was then.

Ok rant over.

Humpf...It always SEEMED like he did good work, and a lot of folks seemed to be happy with his swaps. How weird. I had wondered what had happened to him.
I do recall that there were quite a few people having issues with the FIS harness and THEM mis wiring crap. That scared me enough to fork over the cash for a reputable harness company. There was another guy on here...forget who it was...who was having running issues related to the harness wiring for a good 2 years. What a nightmare. They kept trying to say that HE did something wrong. sent the harness back like 3 or 4 times.

Got all the brake lines done, the vent line is run, the fuel tank, shocks and wrap bar are back in and secured. next Ive gotta route the loom around the steering column and do some general clean up around that, get the steering column in so I can hook up the steering shaft...
Im afraid to finalize anything!!!! However, Im gonna have to do it sooner or later.

What should I do about the vent line off the axles and t case? Is there a valve that should go on the END of the lines like toyota had?
SHOULD there be a roll over valve on the end of the tank vent, or should I just run a filter on it?

Dude, that is a sick looking detailed 40.

I would like to dibs on that thing if ever gets sold !!!!!!
I'm lucky I'm not within 10 mile radius of you, because want to have whatever you have on your 40.....

So wait... What all came to light w/ him???
I'm out of the loop on that.
Were more people having issues with his builds?

Well... Not so much that you're clogging the thread, but I'm wanting to keep an eye out for problems that I might encounter from his/ others mistakes. Know what I mean?

SHOULD there be a roll over valve on the end of the tank vent, or should I just run a filter on it?

All vent lines should be routed up a few inches then exit below the bottom of the container. For the fuel tank its best to also route it around the perimeter of the tank, roll over valve is a good idea. Filters are up to you, I have never delt with them because there are filters in most the systems that have a vent (save for axles, t-case) but I could see their merit for keeping the small amount of air getting pulled in by these systems being clean.

GOTCH YA ... you got most the easy one .. filter after fuel pump was a biggy for me took 4 fuel pumps to figure it out ... now I'm fighting cheap fuel lines ... all and all I bet yours wont have my problems cause you did all the good stuff the first time:grinpimp:
