Yes, of course, there will be a spare, but...unforseen circumstances always creep into my brain.
Somewhat paranoid I suppose. I just like the ability to be able to walk into a chain parts store and be able to find what I NEED, especially for a "garden variety" component such as this.

You can always build a crate in the back where you can mount the spare engine.:hillbilly:

Why not mount up a Sanden AC pump and convert it to OBA sometime in the future?

P&P has a $hit ton of cars with the "good" Sanden pumps on them. IIRC they go for around $30 ea. You could probably pull the required brackets at the same time.

Good info on using a Sanden AC pump for OBA here;

That is a good idea.
I would recommend the york because it has a sump so you don't need to ad oil in the intake and retract it on the pressure side. Try an 80's Volvo they have the high volume 210 model.
I can already see a new chapter, it needs an air tank. Where will he place that one.:grinpimp:

read the link I posted, no need for an in-line oiler with the Sanden with a couple of mods.

I just read it but you still need to add grease manualy. With the York you just need to check the oil every now and then and maybe change it with the engine oil.
It dous need a little more room upwards but that won't be a problem in a 40.

But do you realy want Keith to go through the proces of finding space for all the components?

If you read further he shows how to limit the amount of grease lost so you only need to add grease occasionally.

No more components than the compressor and a couple of fittings. There is really no need to run a tank.

I'd be willing to bet a pump and brackets from P&P will be cheaper than the AC fill pulley, if so we all know which option he will choose. :hillbilly:

Youre really trying to add more time to this build aren't ya?! :)
That is a good consideration though. I'll talk to ya more about it this eve.

If you finish yours there will be people asking me to make my build more entertaining and I have to work more. I might even be more lazy then cheap.:grinpimp:

And who are you kidding, you like cheap gadgets so I think you are already sold and just need a reasson to justify it.:hillbilly:

Actually, yes!!! Youre right. I do like cheap cool mods. What I don't like right now is more work. Might be a project for later though.
There's not enough s*** talkin in your thread. You need more heckling!!!!

Tub is set back on and MOST of the bolts went in accordingly...There were a few fittment issues r/t the 1/2 in blocks that I needed to do in the rear of the tub. So I need a couple longer bolts and we had to get creative with the rubber body mounts as well. Fortunately, I had varying thicknesses sheets of rubber to make body mounts with. Also there was some interference with the trans lines and the tub that will need to be resolved as well.
In the mean time we got the cage set up on stands to paint it. After my helping hands left, I cleaned the cage and got it painted tonight too.:bounce2::bounce:

SPECIAL Thanks EspressoDAN, Rusty DAN and Mark for all the help with the tub/ cage this eve! Wasnt expecting the additional help with the tub bolts too, but it was MUCH appreciated!!!
UMMMM if any of you are around Sat. to put the tub IN the rig....:D

Ill post some pics tomorrow.

x3 on the OBA

Cage is in, bolted down, the body mounts are set. Espresso Dan and rusty Dan AGAIN, assisted the move of the cage, then Rusty and I went over some of the details for the wiring. A lot of people stopped by today, so didnt get as much done as I had hoped
Got 98% of the motor harness located. Im gonna have to grind out one of the existing holes in the firewall to get the fuse box through. Ive gotta say, that Howell harness is VERY NICE. I was surprised to find that the fuel pump relay is incorporated into the motor harness and ready to go. Quite honestly...Im a little freaked out about wiring this thing. My chassi harness should be here very soon and Im chomoin at the bit to get that going. RustyTLC is also gonna help me with that as he has quite a bit of experience with electronics. All in all, the motor wiring is STUPID easy. Everything is labeled and has matched plugs...not much to that part of it.
Im very much looking forward to the education on the wiring cuz I know NOTHING about it.

Looking good ...LOVE the blue

Thanks Kling on...
Do you have any pics of your air cleaner and where the MAS is on it? I got a MAS with my harness, but it seems as though there is an adapter required to go from the throttle body to the MAS??? If that is the case...where can I get those??? Are those just rubber/ PVC couplers?
It seems as if there is NO WAY for me to run a K&N filter unless I extend it around the side of the motor some how to a more remote location?

can you see it here right nexted to the filter

Nice work Keith, its comming out great. Can't wait to see more.:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Can you meassure the distance between the rear hoop of the cage for me.
And maybe how much room there is between the back of the tub and the cage.
I would realy apreciate it.:)

Matty is looking awesome, you have to see her in person to appreciate how much work went into the details. And the blue and black color scheme looks great.

I really can't wait to contribute to this build.

Okay... For some reason I thought that the MAS was right off the throttle body.
Holy Christ those cold air intakes are effing expensive!!!!

Anyone come up with alternatives??? Seems that I've read of people doing something with basic plumbing couplers???

Michael... I'll get that for you later today. Just so you know, the MT cage is largely adjustable for most of the dimensions as it is a kit that is cut to fit.

Thanks dan! Thanks for all the help moving this stuff too. Can't wait to get into the wiring.
