The rockauto.com one is NLA. Only one in stock and supposedly on the way to me.

Looks like the VC120 is no longer in stock/ is now a special order. It will not let me order
I see them online at autozone but holycow have they gone up, almost $60 now...

When you try and check out it tells you no dice. Called my local vatozone and got lucky. The store in the next town had one. When I told him about the online he said it is listed as special order only now.

I have been waiting to post about this, just because I wanted to make sure it was going to work out all right. But since this came up I will go ahead and mention it.

I recently purchased a charcoal canister for a carbureted 98-02 Yamaha R1 motorcycle. It's about the same height as the stock canister, but only 2 inches diameter. Hoses hook up fine, even the bottom, and frees up a lot of space.

Summertime heat is barely here, and I haven't had in the mountains yet. I generally travel between 5000-12000 feet which causes a lot of pressure changes and can work a canister pretty hard. So I can't say 100% this is a solution but so far it's looking good. This is a daily driver also, so it purges regularly.

And bonus... it's a Denso unit. Here's an eBay link to similar, if you search you can find them for less than $20.

Not permanent mounted, yet. Waiting to make sure it's going to work with elevation. Also, ignore the zip tied VSV, working on an EGR issue.

Hows this working out?

So far so good. Weve had some pretty warm days. My first trip up to the mountains is this weekend. I should have a good answer on Monday.
I ordered one anyways, only 29 bucks. Also got a VC120

Just completed the replacement of the OEM charcoal canister with the VC120. Something that I noticed was radio interference on the stock headunit. Other than that, so excessive pressure coming out of the gas tank.

So you are saying the new VC120 is causing radio interference? Not sure how some non-electrical piece of plastic would impact the EMF spectrum. I'm willing to guess something else has been disturbed. (Unless there has been some change in the fuel pump load, but I'd think it'd decrease.)

There are some grounds in that area, sure you didn't disconnect one and forget to put it back? No way its the canister causing interference.

Well, I made sure nothing was hitting any of the electrical wiring and even removed the bottom clamp of the bracket since they were hitting the wire harness. On any radio channel, the static would increase when the engine revs up and I'm on the gas. It isn't a big deal at the moment, and I haven't driven it after going back in to remove the bottom clamp.

Really isn't any way the charcoal canister itself could cause that though.

I've just driven my car around for a bit and noticed when I turned off the engine and kept the radio on, the static went away. The static wasn't there before adding the part and I am pretty sure I did not mess with any electrical wiring. So far it doesn't seem like a major issue so it's something to try and fix when I can.

You have inadvertently messed with/damaged/disconnected something electrical. As others have said, there is no way the new CC is causing your interference.

I've been thinking about the static interference. I may had only just noticed the static after replacing the canister since I don't usually listen to the radio. I'm starting to think something may had been messed up or left unplugged a few weeks ago when I tore the dash to replace the heater core, because I am pretty positive I did not touch any wires today. Anyways, it only affects the radio from what it seems but isn't serious. I'm too lazy take the dash apart any time soon to take a look at stereo connections. Will leave that to another day

I had my first trip up to 9000 feet this weekend. This seems to work pretty well. No fuel smells, no excess pressure in the tank at the gas cap. So far so good.

Hey guys, I pretty much struck out trying to find a vc120 and the one I did find was almost $100:bang: but, in my search came up with these alternate part number cp1031, 215-75, 4b1004, 73-10006. I found one of the 215-75s on ebay for 49.75 shipped!

Just cut your factory CC apart and rebuild it, it's super easy to rebuild. I just did mine a few days ago, and it cost me a total of 10 bucks to do.
