I saw that as well.. not bad at all. MUSTHAVE please update the thread with your build thread when you get on it. If I didnt have my trailer build project I would be on this as well. Even though I have a MT-45 Engle in the back, wouldnt hurt to have this as well.

Would love to replace my useless center console with the Waeco fridge. Looking forward to your updates!

Looked like the example did not have the rear heater option. I'm guessing in order to mount this thing you would have to delete your rear heater. am I seeing that right?

I could put you in touch with an ebay member in aus who is selling a centre console out of a safari vx. looks very well used in the pics though..

Musthave you just suckered me into ordering one as well. Keep us updated on the build I'm curious how I'm gonna pull this off

I don't think he would have to delete it. The platform he makes so that it sits level should be perfect for the heater ducts to stay under.

Uh oh did we crash that website?? I'm trying to order one and keep getting a 404.

What would be really cool is that fridge in the center console, replacing the need for a separate cup holder. AND a roof mounted solar panel to power the fridge 24/7.

Ice cream during red lights in the summer :D

That's funny, I'm in the final stages of mounting a 100w solar panel to the roof rack (should be done this weekend) and for the last two hours I've been looking at fridges online. I hadn't planned on getting one but 100w and 5.3 amps into a 100Ah battery is quite a bit more than I need right now, so I figured why not... :meh:

You can get it on Amazon prime for $350ish with 2 day shipping. I tried that link as well and got the error and said f it and got it on amazon I think it cost $53 dollars more that way

You should totally write something up for us electrical current impaired.

And if I decide to buy I'll prob do amazon prime or see if I can find a used model on craigslist.

The link to RVCountry still works, just purchased a 2nd one to surprise someone I know.

I checked order status, it shipped yesterday, should be here Wednesday. Can't wait to have a cooler up there.

So I have the fridge in my cart and I'm itching to buy it. The only thing preventing me is practicality, which depends on the powering. Does this plug into the cig lighter. I only have the one in my car. If so, does that mean it will cut off when the car turns off. Is there an alt to the cig lighter?

Underneath the console there should be couple of unused plugs if I remember corrrectly. One of the plugs is hot even when the vehicle is off. I made a male connector to plug into that factory plug to power an accessory plug. You could just run your fridge right off that plug.

I will keep an eye in how you're going to re-route the rear heater if you want to keep it.

One more thinking after looking at Waeco website. According to the CDF11 measurements, I think it should push hard against the handbrake.

i had a center console fridge in mine and my previous 60 series.....wouldnt advice on using it, as it puts more stress on your AC compressor and the pipes that go from the front to the center (right hand under body beside the tranny) do get punctured by flying stones/rocks. Once i was on a 2000km trip to east Sudan and it leaked at the first 80km....no AC the whole trip.... much easier and much better to just install a DC fridge. would be less of a hassle to install, maintain and remove.

steph92frMoeGasim - What's great, this one doesn't strain the AC as it doesn't utilize it like the stock consoles do. The Waeco solution that landcrusrphil suggested is what this thread has moved to. It just requires power.

mdandashly - There are wires under console that you can use, or, you can easily run one back from the battery along with a fuse, for under $30

steph92fr - I'm going to design a bracket to lift it up so that won't be an issue. Of course I live in sunny, hot, humid, boiling Florida so I could just do my rear heat removal at the same time of install. BUT, I'm leaving it stock'ish so I'm going to get the bracket made so I don't have that issue.

@musthave ...u are absolutely right....and with the amount of heat we too have here, a solar panel would be awesome to have. i also removed the rear heater. they land cruiser workshops here (majority of whom use primitive tools) also advised that removal of the rear AC unit is a must if you are into serious off roading....but leave it on if u mainly stick to highways etc ....
