When Dave organized the first Carolina Relic Run, he created the "Mustache Ride". Since the 'dress like the year of your cruiser' involved a lot of retro styled clothes, the mustache fit right in with the tie dye or the disco clothes we were wearing already. Those without mustaches were provided with fake ones, and although a few folks resembled Mario Brothers, the majority of us looked like Gods with our furry face caterpillars blowing in the breeze.

I shaved my face today, and I left this mustache. I invite any of you that are keeping the faith on this year's CRR to join me in mustashing.... Let's fight this disease like a cop or a porn star would, with our lips solidly protected by a hairy fortress of manliness.

Well with a global pandemic going on I’m not sure I am going to make the journey up there for the event. I’m just going to wait and see how it plays out over the coming weeks. Everyone stay safe...

This is just me trying to optimistic. The Relic Run is roughly 1 month away. A lot can happen in either direction; one month ago social distancing wasn't even a word or thought. I'd like to think a month from now all or at least most of this will be behind us. Also, I'm not an scientist. Also, this is not my decision. I'll just be super disappointed if this can't happen. Just trying to stay positive

Yep.. I received my Badin Lake cancellation as well. Waiting for this irrational tide to turn hopefully prior to the event. I need this event for some social sanity!

I would think there would be enough alcohol there to kill any virus that may come up, at least I will have that. After trail riding of course! I really hope this event happens and brings some light and happiness to all of us. Cabin fever will have set in and we will all need to get out.

It's all good. I've been here since 2005. So, almost 15 years. I've come across a fair share of native southerners that hate northerners moving into their neck of the woods. It is what it is. I've always been respectful... regardless.

Participants could post pics of their vehicles, costumes, libations and what not.

My plan is to point my 82 40 north on Monday or Tuesday (weather dependent) from Jacksonville, FL and meander up the back roads of rural America, and land in the Uhawrrie National Forest on Thursday afternoon. If there's one other relic in attendance I'm going to call it a success. I'll roll smart, minimizing the contacts, etc, etc.... I'll have some alcohol for medicinal purposes of course. !! I'm not interested in changing anyone's perspective about anything, but for me I'm hoping this event is a go. Great opportunity to get outside and play.. I already need this! Grins...

As of right now, we cannot legally have the event on the original date due to an executive order. We will likely postpone the event. That announcement is forthcoming.
