Where did you get that bash on the passenger side(just forward of the front door)? I don't remember that.

The steering box will need to be relocated to mimic the 80.

But this corner frame brace is in the way...

So out it comes...

We ripped and teared all the spring brackets off the frame. A little more cleanup and it'll be time to put it together.

The Sawzall was useless. It was all plasma.

The donor front axle was mechanic-ed by someone who had no idea what they were doing. Loose wheel bearings, stripped hub studs, rtv everywhere.

We have to get in there anyway to put my locking hubs on, so we got it squared away.

60 hubs are a direct bolt-on since this is the pre-ABS axle.

So far the 60 axle has provided all the spare parts. Looks like I need a new spindle on one side though.

It will be getting a proper rebuild once it is running & driving.

Let's see some welding shots. You are welding by now, aren't you?

Just a FYI, 60 and 80 spindles are not interchangeable. I've tried.

Yep, not even close. I might know of a spare good 80 spindle if you get desperate. Not saying that Tom has one, but I did put one in his truck 2 days ago, so it's possible.;)

Mark has a spare that I can use to get rolling. This one is good enough to build with, but not for driving. I think a crackhead last serviced the wheel bearings. I can only get one of the spindle nuts on. The end threads are more invisible than the 2nd 'R' in Jarbidge.
