What are the plans for the 60 series spring?

David in Oxford wants 'em. I'll let you know if he doesn't.

The fronts are almost brand new CS005 extra heavies. The rears are old, but have proven sag-proof.

FINALLY tacked the first beads. It took a lot of time getting it centered, squared, etc.

I am starting with the rear radius arm mounts to lock everything in position. Those are done, and now we can start working on the coil buckets and shock mounts.

After that, the panhard, brace, and steering box. Then the small details.

Here's the radius arm mounts. I cut 1/4 plate that bolts to the old transmission crossmember. The old radius arm mounts weld to the plate.

Here's a shot with matching tires. We have it sitting roughly at ride height, maybe a hair high in the front. I'm thinking that the J springs will sit even higher.

Totally digging the new clearance underneath. Both under & in front of the axle, and between the top of the housing & engine. Should be sweet.

That bodywork cuts soooo easy:wideyed:

(First ever slice into precious sheet metal)

The coil bucket required some surgery and re-assembly. It was a major pain and took way too much time, but I'm happy with how it went in. It's just tacked for now, with a stock spring thrown in and lightly compressed.

Passenger side is getting burned in...

Looks like I won't be driving it tomorrow, but it will be sitting on the springs a little later.

I'm going to have to do a little surgery in the frame to get one of the old steering box bolt hole sleeves out. That will delay mounting the steering box & panhard mount.

These are J's. I won't really know what I need until the rear is done.

37's are too big, but I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering 35's next. I'll try Mark's and see how they fit & drive.
