Did you climb Bierstadt? The traverse from Bierstadt to Evans via the Sawtooth is a classic.

I probably started a little late in the day at 9:30 (I was the second to last up) but I met this fella at the top of Bierstadt. The storms we're about to pick up when I summited, so I took some pics and got down.

Quick trip to Oklahoma Choctaw Nation with a good friend of mine. Maybe not as exciting as some areas but its close by and was just the right amount of effort for a weekend reset from work and the virus-ridden city. Cruiser got a like or two. One guy was like "Hey, nice 4Runner". Come on man.

Sears/David Bradley?
I wish mine were as cool as an old David Bradley, but no. Mine is just a run-of-the-mill 5x7 expanded metal utility trailer. I flipped the axle and took an old pickup ladder rack and cut it down to fit the trailer and hucked the tent up on top. That's it. It works fine, but it is not really trail worthy. Good enough to get me to most of my regular camp spots.

Ok here goes a big one from my trip this past week!

Tell me about that shelter you have on the side of your 60.

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

This is the 2 meter awning and awning room attachment from Ironman 4x4. This is my first awning, but I have no complaints - thick material and comes with any accessories you might need. The awning room is really awesome! - the floor zips on and is made out of a thick tarp material, the walls are a nice thick material, and the doors have zip-up covers with internal bug screens. The awning even comes with an LED lighting strip that plugs into the cigarette outlet (I didnt use it bc I am scared of running my battery dead in the wilderness). All of this was only $378 - compare to ARB, Roam, etc. where you only get the awning for that much! I slept on my Land Shark Reef Drawers on a queen size REI air mattress, but there was plenty of room for two adult men on cots with all their gear. HTH, lemme know if you've got any other questions

May have posted these before......

We usually sleep in the back of the FJ60. Mary made privacy curtains. Remove bottom of rear seat, add sleeping pads and chaise lounge pads and it works fine.

Many thanks - we may have to squeeze that into the budget.

That as opposed to the dirtbag style jury rigged canvas tarp sunshade we use now (refer to my post of a few minutes ago).

We have the exact same tent that I’ll be mounting on the 60 in a few weeks. Nice shot!

The JB tent has been flawless for us. It's usually on top of our teardrop. Thanks! Look forward to seeing pics of yours installed.

Cheers
