Question: should I delete my EGR?

I've been blocking the hoses and have a resistor installed for about a year now.

Now that the engine is out, should I delete it completely? I've heard only U.S. LCs have the EGR. I'm currently in North Carolina where 25 yr old vehicles don't have emissions, and if they did, people here would know what the EGR is.
Rip it out!

Oh man. I wasn’t aware you had that velour interior.:grinpimp:
At purchase I didnt know that people liked the cloth interior. Though having leather would be the beez neez. Then two years later when I was stationed in Kansas, I found out that it kinda a rare find to have a 95' with cloth interior.

Totally! And manual too. I have the same seats, but different pattern. Toyota cloth wears like iron. Still looks like new.

What’s really rare is the plastic part of your recline handle is still there. 😂

I recently purchased those.

😮 Used or new? I gave up on finding some forever ago. I have some 3d printed ones I found about 6 years ago on mine. Gets the job done, but not great looking.

Bought them new. I think they only come in grey now, so I painted them.

Nice. I’ll look into that. I have a brown paint that matches perfectly.

Nice man, I like those cloth seats too. I have manual leather ones with the plastic handle missing so I’ll have to source those too.

What’s really important here is your friend fourtrax. I need him to be my friend too. Will you be my friend fourtrax? I need you like whitesheep needs you.

@fourtrax is a great dude. He's helping another club member pull his engine tomorrow. If I can sneak out of work, imma stop by to lend a hand.

100% of the people I met in real life on MUD are awesome. 98% of the people I've PM'd has been awesome too. I think one or two have never answered a question or replied "they were too busy wrenching to send me a pic". :flipoff2: but no hard feelings.

Last time I was back there, they had a 70 series at a dealership near my wife's parents house. Mid next year I should be heading back there to visit. See what the market is looking like.
All of the 79 dual cabs are too new to be imported. They only brought them (and the other 70s) back in 2014 for the 30th anniversary. (They're also all the gasoline models, not the diesels AFAIK)

If you want to import a 70 from Japan, you'll have to look for an HZJ77 like mine (or PZJ77), or possibly a HZJ75 or HJ75 truck. There are also various models of the 70s and 73s running around as well with different engines.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting it when I live there.

I have a bench t-case I'm going to rebuild because of a growl I've been chasing. But "while I'm in there", should I do a part time kit, or low/high gears or something?

The LC is no longer a daily driver, but also won't be only used for crawling. I'm kinda ignorant this category, and two other members of the club recommended part time kit.

I'm not going to do a part time kit after chatting with a few others.

Spent a few hours last night stitching this leather steering wheel cover on.

Great job. How well of a match with the airbag?
I did the opposite color. My interior is brown/tan. About a month back I saw someone on the site with a black wheel and brown airbag. I liked the look so did the same.
