Inching closer to "completion." Last two days we've put on the intercooler, emplaced all the plumbing, radiator, pressure check for leaks, and added fluids.

Tomorrow's game plan is to do the wiring for the heat exchanger pump and gauges, install the battery box, and air filter. Hopefully start it up by evening the 🤞🏽😬.

Nothing worth taking pictures of today. Just put in the air filter and tubing, battery box and battery but left disconnected. On the battery box, I added @LandCruiserPhil battery bracket upgrade.

@4LowandSlow was messing with the rear shocks so he put on the Man A Fre shock protectors and new bolts.

Then @Suburbanlegend and @lumbee1 stopped by to say hi and lend a hand. We tinkered with putting gauge pods on the a-pillar. . .didn't work out as planned. But ran the wiring for the gauges and @fourtrax has a place in mind where they can go.

Still more planned is needed for how we are going to wire up the intercooler pump and heat exchanger fan.

Just found out about the battery bracket upgrade. That thing is much needed; probably the jenkiest thing on the 80.

Got off work a bit early today, so went by fourtrax house to do a little more on the LC. Everything thing is in place, just need to finish wiring the fan for the intercooler, the fan switch, and the gauges.

Also started it up today, and Deacon is sounding good 😍. The paint off the exhaust manifolds started to burn, so there will be a few smokey heat cycles.

Lastly, the Derale power steering cooler has a leak on one of the fins🤦🏽‍♂️. Looks like we might have to give it a tac weld.

I think I see a couple spots where you could snake in some more vacuum lines or just general tubing....

Welcome back man; she's looking good!

@fourtrax is a bad mutha. . shut yo mouth!

Finished wiring everything today, and fourtrax picked a sweet ass spot for the EGT and Air/Fuel gauges.

As said the other day. The Derale power steering cooler was leaking. My original paperclip was working perfectly fine, but I had to be cute and buy the Derale. It came with a hole or crack in it. So I bought another and it should be here Monday.

Now just need to put the hood on, double check that everything is tightened, and test drive (after re-installing the power steering cooler.)

We've been running down the intercooler (IC) fan for a few days now. Everywhere where we should have power, we do, but the triggers aren't making the fan do what it should.

During testing @fourtrax jumped the AC pressure switch, and lights on the dash and AC controls stopped working, and the AC console wouldn't respond. Took a quick look at the fuses, and everything looked fine. Had to reach out and phone a lifeline. @BILT4ME walked us through some trouble shooting, but first mentioned looking a the fuses in the cab. Blah blah blah, this that this. Before @fourtax and I started ripping things apart and testing EVERYTHING, @BILT4ME texted saying to look at the 10 fuse for the gauges. Actually pulled the fuse, and YEP!! It was blown 🤦🏽‍♂️. New fuse and power was good to go.

Back to the IC fan not working properly came down to the wires going to the relay were backwards.

ALL ELECTRICAL IS DONE.

Just have to wait till Tuesday for the new power steering cooler to be delivered.

After work I rushed over to @fourtrax house to replace the power steering cooler. This one looks promising due to the welds being in a different location than the previous one (and it hasn't leaked yet 🤞🏽).

Brought the LC home late last night. Drove good but throw a few codes (PO325, PO330, PO340). I know the distributor is not OEM, but I think the knock sensors, and crank sensor should be good. Anyway, got some used OEM ones coming to see if that fixes it.

And a few nicknacks. @NLXTACYs Useless Ashtray Switchplate and Factor 55 Ultrahook.

In other news, I've been stuck on the side of the road for a few hrs now. . .

Driving home from work on the freeway and I'm about to hit 70 mph, then the LC is accelerating but not picking up speed. I let off the throttle then try to accelerate again. Nothing. Pulled over thinking the kickdown cable was loose or fell off the track, and it was good, but in the driver's side there is pink sweet smelling fluid everywhere.

Can't see at the moment which transmission line came loose because I just so happened to stop over an ant bed 🤦🏽‍♂️.

My savior @fourtrax is on the way to rescue me lol. I'm sure it's a 10 min fix 🤞🏽🙏🏽.

To be continued. . .

Pink sweet smelling sounds like coolant, not transmission fluid.

Hopefully it's a transmission hose at the bottom of the radiator that didn't get tightened.

the upper hose between the two hard transmission lines ( right above the starter) split open. replaced the hose added 5 qts of fluid back on the road home. I think it might have gotten nicked when removing the engine. it did look like an original from 1995 though.

Met up with the Raleigh ONSC members for a chat and dinner. Now that I moved a little further south, it's 1.5 hrs drive both ways and a full tank of gas ⛽ 🤦🏽‍♂️

Ol Deacon did pretty good though during the drive. 75 MPH @ 3,000 RPMs (at ease). 186° and 13 AMPG.

And did this because I like to buy s*** I'll probably never use 😜

I use ALL my cupholders all the time.

I'm the only one in the truck.

Two in front, one front of console, one on side of console, and the two behind the console.

Front 1: sanitizer
Front 2: coffee
Front 3 in front of console: Huge cup of water
Side 4: Various crap and "overflow" water bottle
Rear console L: Starbucks Stage 1 coffee (backup)
Rear console R: Starbucks Stage 2 coffee (backup)
Floor on passenger front: Cooler with additional drinks and ice, maybe snacks.
Back seat: half a case of water bottles in case I run out.

Front 2: Scotch (Highland when I feel sensitive and vulnerable)
Front 3 in front of console: Huge cup of Scotch (Blended)
Side 4: Various crap and "overflow" Scotch bottle
Rear console L: Bourbon Stage 1 (backup)

Fixed it for you.
