Well, I've spoken to Lexus USA about this vehicle and it was only seen at Lexus for service and everything was done on time and usually early in the maintenance schedule. There are both master keys as well as the valet key and is as perfect (from a history standpoint) a 2002 can be. No offroad, new tires, 70k service done, etc. They confirmed it was one owner and after giving them VINs for the other rigs I was looking that were as much as $2300 less, the Lexus rep said if it was him, he'd spend the extra to get this pristine example. Plus, it's not pearl white or black! The low miles and service records have value to me.

They're bringing it up tomorrow and I'll buy it if it looks as good as the photos and their description. If not, they can take it back to Utah and I'll keep looking.

As far as price, $23.6k + tax and fees for this rig is probably worth it. The low miles matter in pricing these as do the complete service records. Condition is everything.

The rig won't be here until later today but I'll look. Considering the truck was from the southwest and spent the last year in Jackson, WY when the owner moved, I'm guessing rust will not be much of an issue.

Are you considering UT the SW?

Not unless you're talking Southern Utah but the vehicle lived in Las Vegas until last year and that indeed is the southwest. Point is, it's not a rustbelt rig. The owner traded the rig in SLC from Jackson where she's now lived for the last year.

 awesome! I've seen some UT trucks with some rust before (they salt, I think) and didn't want you to think that SLC was "SW", that's all...

Tomorrow will tell! We've been delayed by the weather and the salesman's health issues. We should be a go for tomorrow and I'm really hoping the rig is as they say. The service record, as I mentioned already, is impeccable.

I finally took delivery here in Raleigh of my new 03 LC purchased in Reno last month courtesy of the tip from Spressomon. $21200 inclusive of all misc fees. 97k on the clock. Side curtain airbags, front seat airbags, Nav, dvd(heck, I dont want the dvd). The rig could not be in better shape, no rust, interior spotless, paint excellent. I'm confident this was a fair market value, no steal here, but the condition of the rig was the real value. 1.5 years of hunting and finally out of the market! On with the Bilsteins, 90k service, new tires, optima battery.....

Who has the most miles on their UZJ100?

Could you please post miles and year of your vehicle? Reason I ask is because I'm looking at buying one for the Mrs and found a few with 100k miles and a few closer to 200k miles and wanted to know how long you think it would run for.

I've seen and heard of the FZJ80s lasting till about 300k... wanted to know how the 4.7L V8 would do... I'm thinking definitely needing to change out the timing belt, water pump, etc to say the least...

Thanks in advance :D

There are threads that covers this, try searching. Seen a number of 100s over 300K...

thanks.. redid my search.. this time titles only and found a lot of good info... How much would you all say a 2000 LC with 190k miles would be worth?

How long is a piece of rope? In all seriousness 9k-14k depending on condition, place of origin, maintenance records, options, up grades, and how much you are willing to pay.

1999 LC 100 Series

I am considering buying a 1999 100 series with 106,000 miles and wanted some input from the board. Any issues with this particular year model? It has front and rear factory lockers according to the seller. How are the 4.7's compared to the 4.5l inline 6 as far as power and reliability/longevity goes?

Thanks for your input!!!

There isn't a factory front locker available. The power and economy of the V8 is superior to the I6. The durability of the V8 seems to be exceptional.

2001 Land Cruiser For Sale By Owner

Hello Everyone,

I've had my 01' LC for about 6 months now, and love it! Unfortunately, I recently lost my job and found out that my wife is pregnant, so I have to sell the LC.:crybaby:

It's a 2001 with almost 105k miles. It has a dealer installed TRD supercharger, good tires on it, and pioneer

AVIC-F700BT navigation receiver. It's also tinted all around with 3M's RE35NEARL window film.
See the attached photos.

Let me know if your interested or if you know anyone that might be.

I am not the 100 pro, but I've been searching for a 100s or several weeks now. In general, $14000 seems a little high for 1999. But if you are interested in the factory locker over TRAC and VSC, then it may be a good deal for you. To pay higher than average price I would confirm that its in perfect condition/carfax and has the 90K service completed.

Does anyone know a ball park cost to install the 03+ 5-speed into an 02- LC100? I saw the 1991 80 series in the classifieds with 05 Tundra engine and Lexus 5-speed... got me thinking that a very high milage 02- 100 series might be the truck I am looking for... the lower cost could allow me to make these swaps and still come out under the cost of an 03+...

Or am I just doing wrong thinking? I see the high mile 02- trucks going for ~$12k, and the average mile 03+ trucks going for >$22k. I really want the 5-speed, but I could do without the NAV.

The other option that I am considering is to keep looking for an affordable 03+, and then plan down the road to swap in the non-NAV dash from other LC markets (Canada, Mexico or others), or at least prepare for the day that the NAV goes out.

I'll probably ping the guy who did that 1991 swap in the classifieds for cost estimates, but am interested in all your opinions until then. Thanks for playing :)

Theres no need to swap out transmissions usually on these rigs. Find the newest lowest mileage 100 you can for your budget and get it.
