Hi, I am looking to upgrade to a 2006 100 series. I found one in New Jersey and one that spent its life in Denver, Colorado. I am just wondering how 4 winter affect the 100 series in those area. Thanks for the feedback =) Does Denver uses lots of salt on its rd?

Curious to see responses here. I just posted our 2006 in the Classified section and would like some feedback on the price for a one-owner 2006 with 40k miles.

The LC is now in VA. The carfax said it was in a minor fender bender.

2003 Used Toyota Land CruiserBase --DVD/NAV-- at MAXIMUM DEALS, INC in 8503 EUCLID AVENUE SUITE J, MANASSAS PARK, VA 20111

The page has a link to the free carfax report. That's probably the reason for the lower price.

I bought a '99 100 from Maximum Deals a few years ago. I saw pics online and never saw the truck in person since I'm in FL. I ended up buying the truck and it showed up nothing like described. It had a ton of paint touch up spots and the windshield actually leaked when it rained. Basically I called and bitched and they sent me $500. Long story short, I would definately see the truck in person and do your homework on Max Deals.

Interesting. I bet that's why Lexus of Dayton unloaed it; they knew something was wrong and didn't want to soil their reputation.

I'd have a hard time buying site-unseen period. I could probably do it from a brand dealer via ebay where I has some opportunity for recourse. But a used-only lot spooks me.

New to forum, have to start somewhere.

Just wanted to say hello, and state that I am trying my best to develop a Land Cruiser habbit. I have been down the Land Rover road before, and not in a big hurry to duplicate that experience. I wanted to ask, if you were going to buy one for yourself to double as daily driver, and occasional offroad, what year and mileage cruiser would you consider. I will have about 18k to spend if I can get a decent price for my Titan.

Get an '03, if you can get one for that much. Otherwise, I love my '02, which I have seen within your budget. The 03 will get you a few other things which are very nice.

Welcome,

Jonathan

you can easily get a decent 98-02 and have money left over for sweat gear. make sure and check out the buying and selling stickie thread.

I'm back! and looking for a 100

Alright guys, I used to be on here a few years back when I had a FJ40 and I'm back in the market for another Landcruiser.

I've driven a couple of 80's and just found a 100 at a Toyota dealership. Below are the details, tell me what you think.

1999 100 series
locking diff
147K miles
Limited to no service records
Carfax comes up good, no issues
talked them down to $10,200 CASH

Should I be concerned about timing belt and water pump issues? What other things should I watch out for. (I've read the Slee page 100 series write up)

Thanks guys

Butch

Anyone ever deal with Ferco Motors in Miami? I'm a little spooked of buying off ebay in general, but non-brand lots are extra spooky. This one does, however, have a bbb A+ rating. Any feedback would be excellent!

I live in South Florida and I hate to deal with anything out of Miami. It's a whole different world down there. Ferco Motors may be a great company to deal with, but I would have to go there in person to get a feel for them. I'm wrestling with getting another 100 series, and this time I'm leaning toward private seller or bigger dealership. The extra time and $ might save a lot more hassle in the long run.

Thanks for the feedback. Quality LX/LC's are more rare then hen's teeth in my part of the world this year!

desperation...do i just get a 120?

I have been looking for a 100 with 110-140k miles, just cant seem to find the right one for the right price, missed out on one last week.

Problem is i need a replacement now!!!

How disappointed am i going to be if i purchase a genIV 4runner with a V8?

they are in the price range i am looking at 11-13k 4wd v8 well appointed, not as nice as an LC but....

what do you all think... just wait and hold on as long as i can for a 100...

100 with 117k in shambles

just checked out a 100 with 117k,
motor ran fine shifted fine ac works.

leather is really dried out carpet in rear worn out by a dog
plastic trim pieces were falling off in several places. due to aftermarket tv with a VHS and antennae that ran underneath headliner.

antennae was broken also

vents in very back were broken and cup holder in back was broken.

looked underneath it, cat had a lot of surface rust on it.
car after it was warm seemed like it had low oil pressure, it barely got past half way when running around and rested on the first line when idling. Is this normal for a 100?

car was dusty apparently has been on the lot a while.
it was really dusty. it was really dirty also
tires were okay albeit old.

Can not tell if the timing belt was done.

dealer is asking around 14K and on crack....

should i run away.... or would 10k be a fair price.?

fair price for 99 lx470

what is a fair price for lx 470 with 130k?
clean car inside and out
timing belt done
tires okay.

only thing i noticed is a slight buzzing noise in center of drive train and up in the engine compartment.

is 13k too much?

Thinking of selling my 99 LC. 156,000. I had the 90k service done at 154,000. new Bilsteins, brakes checked and serviced. New antenna mast. Has the typical chips and dings. Interior is in good shape with no cracks or splits in the leather. Has the third row seats. Runs and drives perfect. River Rock over tan.

Think $10,000 is too high? I think it is a decent asking price for the PNW. I have the dealer service printout going back many years with all the service history at a Toyota dealer and the receipts from the recent dealer maint on the 90k stuff (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, acc belt, new coolant, etc)

I'll get some pics up shortly once I find the charger for the camera.

Reason I am selling is that I am deployed (home on leave) and it never gets used and I want to put the money into the home renovation.

That isnt an LX - hope you havent owned it for 11 years thinking it was.

Typo. Sig line is correct.

Ok I found a 2000 lc with 90,000 miles, one owner, all service done at Toyota dealership. All services were up to date, it was in the dealer for every oil change, every inspection and every service. Truck is stunning. Just wanted to ask if 15k was out of line for one like that?

that is what i paid for 2000LX 134,000 miles. friend of mine that owns shop says if they are taken care of properly then not much use in chasing mileage...but if they are tight and clean and well maintained...buy it.
