Thinking of selling my 99 LC. 156,000. I had the 90k service done at 154,000. new Bilsteins, brakes checked and serviced. New antenna mast. Has the typical chips and dings. Interior is in good shape with no cracks or splits in the leather. Has the third row seats. Runs and drives perfect. River Rock over tan.

Think $10,000 is too high? I think it is a decent asking price for the PNW. I have the dealer service printout going back many years with all the service history at a Toyota dealer and the receipts from the recent dealer maint on the 90k stuff (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, acc belt, new coolant, etc)

I'll get some pics up shortly once I find the charger for the camera.

Reason I am selling is that I am deployed (home on leave) and it never gets used and I want to put the money into the home renovation.

$10k seems on the low side even at 156k miles. I looked at a 2000 with 87k on it a few weeks ago in Portland that had rips, dents, misaligned interior panels, and smelled like vomit that went for $15,900.

Check out ebay and crazedlist and you'll see that even high-milers carry a good price.

Anyone looking for a perfect 2004 LX470 this is it. 69K miles. Black/Grey. I sold this car to carmax 30 days ago because I did not want to ship it from KC missouri to Maui. Plus parking places are small in Maui and a big LX would be a pain to park. This LX has "NO" rust it spent most of its life in Austin Tx. Belonged to an exec. that drove it mostly to and from the airport. I owned in in KC for 1 1/2 years. I am a maintance nut and it has "all new fluids" even though Lexus said it did not need some of them changed. It has been a mall cruiser all its life and was garaged all the time except now at carmax. All you need to do is go to your local carmax and they will ship it to your location. I would like to see my baby find a good home. 2004 Lexus LX 470 in Independence, MO- 6307770 at carmax.com

sorry but i have to ask?

How much did carmax buy it for and how much are they asking?

Depends what you want. 03 has nav, 18" wheels, 5speed auto(i think). I have an 01 and love it. I like the look of the 18s but the tires cost more and arent quite as good as 16s off road. I personally like the non-nav dash better and since its much simpler....i think it will result in less problems down the road. 90k service will only cost you about $300 if you do it yourself. $1k if you pay the dealer.

Thanks for the info. My biggest concern is the 4spd vs 5spd tranny. 4 spds seem to always be gear hunting. I love the 5 spd in my 4Runner. I do like the fact that this model is available without nav. In dash models get outdated so quick and are far too integrated to replace easily. I may pull the trigger.

Definitely...I haven't been able to do s*** off-road with my 18's

Be careful buying a Chicago and Milwaukee rig due to their salt covered winter roads. Salt attacks LC's, especially the undercarriage/chassis with a vengeance!!!

Chicago is down south for me. I live in Northern WI. Salt and rust are just facts of life up here!

LOL really? You sure about that...? compare the size difference between a 16" wheel with Nitto Trail Grapplers installed and an 18" wheel with same tires installed that are comparable.

285x65x18 vs 285x70x16
1/2 inch difference in total sidewall height.....
tire on 16" wheel is actually smaller diameter than tire on 18" wheel

so to me it sounds like you lose clearance on 16" wheel setup.....and sidewall is about 1/2" less 18" setup. That is not much difference at all and I doubt it would cause the tire to be ineffective and not as capable. LOL

1st time post, 1st time LC owner. Bought a 2000 with 113k for 13 and change. Truck looked great on lot and after a month of beach fishing out of her it has bought out the rust. Nothing deep, all small pin size stuff that was easily taken care of. Truck must have been garage kept and engine compartment was sooo clean. I love it. I have owned 2 4 runners, 97 and 98 and thought those were great, but this is like I died and gone to heaven. My 98 4 runner was bought new and last year we were moving and some fool rear ended me at over 60 mph. I was loaded down with all my stuff I did not trust in the moving van Well thank goodness no one was injured and that I had a crowbar in my rod holder on the front end. A sate cop watched me beat the livin' crap out of the rear panels and rip them off so I could drive it. He just shook his head as we drove off 3 hours later. But ya know something, that vehicle was a total loss and I drove it another 3hrs at 70mph and you did not realize anything had happened till you looked in the rearview. You guys have a great site here and I have used it daily for the past month, keep up the great work. Thanks, bill b PS Do not move on a friday the 13th

Series 90 or Series 100???

Recently got rid of my old FJ40 weekend fun truck and am looking for a later model Series 90 or an early vintage Series 100 as a DD. Can someone point me to any previous threads, etc., which summarizes the pros and cons of each model and things to look out for when it comes time to purchase.

Thanks

By 90 series I'm guessing you mean GX, because we don't have a true Prado in the US. As for the 100, I've moved your thread to the buying/selling opinions thread, good place to start.

98-99 Front diff ?

I am in the market for an older 100. I am wondering if I should even be considering 98-99 models because of the weaker front diff. Is this a legitimate concern? When do they typically let go?

TIA!

Ok awesome, thanks. Another question, how do I know if the timing belt service has been done? I'm looking at this LX eDirect Motors - 2000 LEXUS LX470 - AWD

The dealer said there wasn't a sticker on there, how do I look up on the Lexus website to get a history?
