What color formula did you get? Stock based on code 653? Color-matched? I'd love to come by and compare to the inside of my cowl vents sometime. What compressor, water-separator, pressure, gun? I need to paint...
Still using that Dewalt compressor? Looks FANTASTIC! Very nice work.
Just a skim coat of filler (I swear) but somehow I managed to cover them up and didn't even notice until today. At least I didn't weld them! What kind of idiot puts hours of body work into a couple of doors and then after paint notices that the lower mounting holes on one door have disappeared?Just a skim coat of filler (I swear) but somehow I managed to cover them up and didn't even notice until today. At least I didn't weld them!

Gus, my experience with my 2.5" OME heavies was a very stiff ride at first. Juuuust a tad darty the first couple of days until I mounted the winch and non-stock bumper. After one day trip off road with some articulation it was much softer. Now after 8000km mostly on road it is down-right plush. Didn't sink a hell of a lot that I have noticed. I weighed in at 5600# loaded for bear on the way out to the whipsaw trail, a 950km trip one way. So I have most definitely loaded her up.

Here is one from the Whipsaw trail. I didn't have enough rpm and stalled it. I did the bypass after the wheelie. I'm pretty sure I could have made it up with a little more RPM but I didn't want to stall higher up and come back down at speed. Ratpuke (in blue standing in the background) got a good picture from the other side.

My experience is similar to Kevin's. I've had three OME spring sets now: two 40 series and one 47. Personally I like the shims when they are new but as they age they don't need it. Mine on my LX are over seven years old now and have done numerous trips into the middle of Australia, moab, New Mexico and Colorado and I no longer have caster shims (or need them). They ride wonderfully and have only settled a fraction of an inch, if at all.
I've never had OME without a winch though and have never had heavies; all mine have been medium. However, I'd buy them again in a second with no complaints.
Ordered new rubber for the ambulance doors. Funny the detail Toyota puts in these OEM parts, more or less a perfect fit. Look at that little hang-over sealing tab, not that it will last that long with the doors banging around but still kind of cool they make the effort. A little confusion at first on the part numbers as they've changed. Still debating on new rubber for the windows.
