Not much actually. I sent him a long list of mods and was happy to hear that most of them are standard now. I used your old thread as a checklist.
Grade 8 hardware
Upgraded spindles
Spindle covers
Tire carrier swing out
Ladder swing out with squared rungs
Capped wheel wells
Powdercoated to match Slee stuff (40-60% Gloss Black) That's the only change Mike still seems resistant to.
Struts, pins, stoppers and latches
Trailer hitch
Hey guys, I spoke with Mike last tonight, we are a go. People paying by check/cash instead of Pay-pal get an 11.5% discount instead of 10%. You need to add $50 per swing-out for the upgrade spindle. Website is not up to date on this price increase. He no longer carries the light weight spindle. He is fine with the angled steel rungs and semi gloss power coat. We just need to give him the ratio of paint vs. gloss.... 40 / 60% etc. Looks like there are three guys in So Cal ordering a bumper. If we all have them delivered to one location we can save on shipping. I got the ok from my work to have them all delivered here, we have a fork lift. They will usually discount the shipping if you have them delivered to a business with a fork lift. Really does not matter if they a raw vs. painted shipping will be the same. Shipping costs are calculated on weight and delivery location. Mike would prefer we get all our orders in by Feb. 6th with 1/2 the cost of your total bumper as deposit. Estimated completion is middle of March. Could be sooner, could be longer, it all depends on the power coater. They can be a couple of weeks (or days) turn around time.
All orders and deposits are done through Mike at Bump-it. Call and talk with him first and decide how you want to configure your bumper. After your discussion send Mike an e-mail with exactly what you want. He will e-mail you back with your total cost. Mike will then either send you a pay-pal request or you mail him a check.
Mike does have one new feature you may want to consider. It’s an adjustable tire carrier holder. It allows you to move the tire up, down and in or out. Mike builds these carriers for a 35 inch tire. If you are running a smaller sized tire you may want to move your tire down and in for better visibility. You can then move it up before a trial run for better clearance.
I want to get a 100% commitment from everyone before we start contacting Mike and placing orders with deposits. This is the no turn back point, other guys are depending on your commitment from here on out. Everyone PM me “100% in”. After I get all five (or more) of these. I will PM you back to get your orders and deposits in.
PM me with any questions or if you want in.
