Sean, are you heading up to pickup your headache rack or are you guys working out shipping? Just curious what the freight is like on a headache rack if your going that route. Thanks in advance!

Hello Kurt, Kevin is sendings a bed so I can't offer you any shipping detail specific to the headache rack alone. Called you shop too

Kurt, I have shipped "you weld" rack kits for about $60 in postage IIRC. BUT... I only have enough parts left to complete outstanding orders. I have shut down production of new parts until prolly next year to take a break from it all.

Strange thing happening today. This dark shape was following me around all day. It seems to be caused by those weird blue splotches in the sky.

Okay guys.... been a while since I posted. I took a bit of a break and did some work on my new-to-me BJ42.

Still more to do but I want to finish off the last few beds I committed to building. Three of those require tailgates so I have been tooling up to make gates. I've made the perimeter frame parts and hooks already and I just finished laying out and programming the dies for the letters. I have to sneak them onto the laser this week and sould be able to proof my technique this weekend.

BUT!.... I have a question.... did the 63 to 67 USA units have the oval on the right side for that chrome 4x4 sticker or was that introduced later????

I think it was always there but before I stamp them all in I thought I should make sure.

Here is a snapshot of my Solidworks model....

Also I should let everyone know I will be making several extra gates. So if you have been wanting one for some time but didn't want the hassle of buying overseas let me know. They will be full on original replicas with the raised lettering. Let me know if you need the three or four hinge style too. They'll be $500.00 Canadian funds. Each. Plus shipping. I haven't figured out shipping yet.

Tailgates could be a limited time offer. No pressure! :grinpimp:

Here are a couple of shots from last weekend. I punched out the end channels, top rail and bottom rails of the tailgates. I also managed to form up the end channels and the bottom channels

Today I finalized the CAD work and the laser NC program needed to cut out the pieces I will use to make a home made set of dies for the letters in the skin. If that makes sense. IOW I am ready to make the tools to stamp the letters in the gate. I have a flat gate skin that I made a couple of years ago. I will experiment with my letter tools on that and update here with the results likely next Monday.
