Spent a wonderful weekend with my wife in Sand Hollow, UT. One of my favorite places, and unbelievable its only a 2 hour drive from home. This was the first time taking the 45 anywhere. It performed great. Didn't miss a beat, and came home in the same condition as we took it, so that's a plus!

Rant into the one and only @woody on the trail also, which was a pleasant surprise!

I did some surgery on the front axle. There is actually an outer mounting ring for the differential that's welded to the axle housing. My plan is to cut that off, and cut off the diff cover, then swap sides. Will also need to cut/turn the balls, and remount the spring pads and shock mounts.

Taking measurements first

Great out of the box thinking !

I have a beloved Tundra that the frame is rusting out on. And a previously restomodded 40 that could use a repower...worthy of re-doing but not worthy of a proper restoration, and a couple of frames to do a stretch, and some tube left over to do a link suspension...
I've actually been dreaming about this for a while, we'll see if it ever happens.

Very cool truck UZJ40!

We just returned from Cruise Moab 2026.... it was an incredible week! We didn't do any of the guided trail runs, but we did camp with the crowd at the fairgrounds.

We had the fortunate luck of meeting @RustyLinkz on Tuesday night which proved to make for an adventurous next few days! We were planning on hitting mostly mild trails since we were by ourselves, but since we found a wheeling buddy we pushed it a little more.

Maybe this rainbow as we unloaded the 45 off the trailer was a good omen of things to come...

We re created the shot we took about 10 years ago with the 2UZ 40 (was my wife's favorite picture of the trip) -

Saturday morning we went through Arches. We took a back road to Tower Arch. A little faster pace than the previous trails.... still a lot of fun!

Definitely a week for the books! So much fun having @RustyLinkz as well as @TrailBornRunner with their awesome SAS 100 series on the trails with us. Lots of laughs and fun. Can't thank him enough for getting us out!
