Shop stuff -

I went to an estate sale about a month ago. Originally, I only went up to look at a Bridgeport mill, but that turned into a 5 day ordeal of me picking through stuff, buying, moving, etc.

The best item I got from the sale was this 5x8 Weldsale fixture table. I had never seen one in person before.

How I first saw it, with many of the fixtures scattered around below it in the leaves -

Getting it home was a huge ordeal. The table weights 3,400 lbs! Getting it on the trailer was extremely difficult. I brought my skid steer up on a trailer but it was absolutely no help. We ended up rolling it onto the trailer using pipes and the trailer winch.

Got it home -

The table didn't have legs, so fortunately there were 4 jacks at the sale I picked up too. I had to take 13" out of each leg, but they are great now. I have about 11" of height adjustability with the table now -

I also picked up a few I beams and a rolling trolley hoist. I have always wanted to make a rolling bridge crane, so this was my opportunity.

With a bridge crane, you essentially need 4 posts. Being that I already have a two post lift, I wanted to use that as one end of the crane, and build a frame against the wall for the other.

Setting the first I beam on the lift. Each beam weighs 400 lbs. -

Very nice! 🙌🏻

Great stuff, I look forward to seeing you finish the build. Considering everything else you have been doing I really feel like I am slacking on my project.

That fixture table and bridge port are awesome. You can never go wrong with Kit like that

This thread continues to deliver, I love seeing all the projects. Cool that you guys self performed most of the remodel/addition work, so satisfying to build your own stuff.

I too feel like an absolute slacker using this thread as a benchmark!

Double down ditto. Riley, you never cease to amaze me - carry on man!

Echoing the other guys, just AWESOME!! All of it!!!

Let me know when the house next to you is for sale!! I think I should be your neighbor!! :)

Busy and productive day today... And I got to use my crane for the first time which was pretty awesome!

Spent all day removing the last of the stuff I wouldn't need, grinding metal, reinforcing mounts, etc.

I went through four 4.5" getting rid of factory mounts -

I needed to finish some welds on the bottom of the frame... Mostly the sliders and bumpers. I absolutely hate welding upside down, and my welder doesn't like it either. So I decided to use my heavy equipment to help out -

Everything on the bottom is now finished -

After that, pushed it back in the shop and painted! Letting it dry now, then the drive train can go back in for the final time!

The checklist got a lot shorter today... Mostly with stuff I've really not been wanting to do. I'm happy with how it came out though. And it's very nice having the motor mounts and body mounts reinforced the correct way -

Thanks! I've been enjoying your build as well! They are very similar, but also very different!

Thanks! I'm very excited to use them, and extremely fortunate I was able to get them where I did. I would not have been able to afford them had I paid close to retail.

Thanks buddy! Its grueling, time consuming, expensive, but still kind of fun I suppose. I'd rather work with metal than wood any day, but its a nice change. I'm ready to be back in the shop though, and not have tools strung out everywhere.

Double down ditto. Riley, you never cease to amaze me - carry on man!

Thank you

Thank you.... I think the in-laws already called it ;)

Love seeing how your crane is working, what a great idea! Your shop is awesome, keep up the great work as usual.

Wait did I miss the paint booth? You've got to have that too if you have a crane lol.

I'll trade you some woodwork for metal work anytime you'd like. My 75 is still in pieces maybe someday it will get built.
