mderrick, I cut out a rectangle and flipped it to slightly raise the fill height. I went from 0 degree pinion angle to 6 degree and i wanted to make sure I had enough oil on the pinion bearings. It probably wasn't needed, but I had the housing stripped and on the bench, so it was a good time to do it.
It turned out both my diff's needed master rebuild kits. One of the carriers had spun a main bearing, so I used another carrier. Everything is fresh as can be. My friend from American Axle Quality did the rebuild himself. I am running the 3.70 gearing. I hope that is good for street use...
The Barnes offroad perches have the extra holes for axle placement. I am setting the front forward the extra ~1.5 " and will set the back the same amount back. This should help with tire clearance on the back, as well as making my Drive shaft a little longer and shallower.
I am at a computer now, but most of my posts are I-phone posts, so please excuse the brevity.
Thanks for reading my posts.
It is nice to bolt something to the frame finally. All this cut and turn, plus perches, cleaning, and rebuilding has taken quite a bit of time.

I was a little too quick to relocate these. They are going back to stock. I will tack and look at it before welding this time

Here is the stock location. The weight of the axle is on the spring.
How much of an angle should I go for without the weight of the body on it. How much are these springs going to settle out? Thanks for the input

I guess I"ll look for an h3 oil pan. Anyone with advice on angles, measurements, placement...
Looks like I might have to consider the Silverado exhaust manifolds... Time to do some mud searching.

I know mine's a different beast, but I used a Camaro pan. I have the Silverado exhaust and it didn't work on the 55 frame. I had to buy Sanderson center dump headers. My motor is a 2004 5.3 from a Silverado, if you decide they can work for you, you can have them for the shipping.

Motor really looks good in there.

I'm not sure about the 45 hood, but will you have an issue fitting under the hood. On 55s there is a height problem. I wound up with a 3 degree incline measured on top of the motor. Couldn't raise it any more without contact with the hood.

Just got back on it last night.

12" from back of shock tower drivers side, 13.5 " pass side. Up 1.5" off rail dr, 3" pass side- for ac comp clearance. Steering mockup. 6.3 degrees on the engine and on the pinion
Comment on this please. Barely clears the hood. Might have a tough time using the engine cover. Will problem try to get the motor lower one the sag conversion is in and I can make sure I will clear

How close is the oil pan to the front diff.? Not sure which pan you have, but an H3 pan has an indented sump that helps when lowering the motor. Also, might consider adding a 1" body mount, if you can't lower the motor.
