Thanks guys! Makes me feel better. Last thing I wanted to do is toast the trans. Yes more boost would be good. I never drove that road with the 1fz. It has less power for sure...but not horrible. I think it will be just right once tuned. Best part...the fuel gauge has hardly moved :-). I'll fill up at the end of the day and report.

Thanks again for the real time help!

Sounds right. My oil pressure gauge readings look just like it did before the conversion. Your testing reminds me of the movie Captain Ron "If its going to happen, its going to happen out there."

Hah! Yup...only one way to find out where we're at :-). The goal was to have it done for a 1500 mile camping trip leaving this Wednesday. I'm a week or two behind where I wanted to be. Not sure about the wisdom of driving a new swap that far...what say you all?

Ill re quote this incase you mist it in response to your last question.

"If its going to happen, its going to happen out there."

If I was you I would go over every nut and bolt in the next few days. Look for any spots where hoses are rubbing or signs of abrasion. Check/change fluids as needed and hit the road. I would also bring a good assortment of tools and fluids just incase. As well as get a AAA membership incase a tow is needed.

I say go for it. You built it so you know it. When I picked mine up I just took off even though I should have staying around the shop for a couple days. Duiser/Jonesy's did do many test drives but nothing like the 1,500 miles I put on in less than a week. I got AAA and made sure I had all the fluids I needed in case everything spilled out in the middle of nowhere. I spewed PS fluid while on the trail in Moab due to an unused port on the pump which blew its cap. Did a trail fix thanks to Jeep dude that had a spare hose that I rigged up at a cap. Other that I didn't have any issues.

I think the thing to remember is a break down is a break down. Weather its 100miles away or 1500miles away. Deal with it learn from it fix it and move on. Most breakdowns are not trip enders, most are things like alternators, hoses water pumps ect.

I would recommend a good length of 5/8th heater hose, clamps for all sizes. Some 3/8" hose for trans cooler lines, fuel hoses of both sizes and a spare fuel filter with a 500ml bottle of diesel for priming/testing if needed.

Congratulations!

I finished my swap and headed on a 2 week vacation! Trial by fire!

Good job

Its the sender in the rear most oil gally in the isuzu. im planing on using that on mine. Just a bit of wiring after that.

Drum roll please...

Just filled back up. Burnt 6.75 gallons of diesel. Went 133 miles up and down a mountain. 19.7 MPG! I am happy as can be with that! Once I get the boost figured I think I'll break 20!

So just the stock isuzu sender? I'll need to look at the 1fz wiring to get that wired up. I like the buzzer ad on too. Might have to do that as well as that is my biggest fear with this...losing the oil line to the filters causing loss of oil pressure while I'm not watching the gauge. An idiot light and buzzer would be good me thinks.

Nice! Feels good doesn't it. No more "can I make it to the next town?"

Well I hope so, I have not wired it yet. I got a little 2 in 1 led warning light buzzer on Amazon for it. I was actually going to wire it up to a fuel cut so when starting the engine it would have a 5sec delay to allow pressure to build after that if it dropped it would cut power to the fuel control "IV" bag. That Idea seemed to get some worried about safety concerns but toyota did it on all the 3b and 2H 60 series.

I may still do it, for now the LED/Buzzer will work.

I have a whole list of cool ideas I want to try once I get the main things done one is a amb temp based glow system with built in timer. So no glow need till 2c then after that it will start a glow sequence starting at 5sec at 1c and so on down till -25c and 45sec of glow.

I'll have to see how you wire that. I have a grid heater, no glow plugs, that is hooked up to a Toyota factory momentary switch at the moment. I have to hold it down so eventually I want something I don't have to think about. Not that I really need it in Texas but I do like to travel to the colder regions.

Your engine should be like mine and not require any glow right now to start. I have yet to glow mine actually.

Once I get it working ill post some info and details on it. Its simple in my head but its usually far more complex and frustrating when I try and do it. As can be a lot of things in life i guess lol.
