You had to be puckered on this one. That looked suuuuper tippy ON CAMERA. I can’t imagine how it felt in the cab! Nice driving.
Thank you for the kind words, actually it felt very stable, you can see how casual my Son looks in the passenger seat like it's just another day in the park.

PS I'm running 31/2" back space 10" wide wheels = 6" wider out side of wheel to outside of wheel and only 3" of lift, REG is super stable!! ;)

I had my Son do most of the driving on this trip, trying to get the hook set and get him into his own REG

Here's my Son Thayer getting his feet wet.

Nah, Richard is cool as a cucumber.

I finally got around to banging out a years worth of trail damage 🥴

It's a rock crawler so close is good enough, No Bondo was used hammer & dolly, couple of blocks of wood and a pry bar. Some new used lights Bingo good to go

The driver side has been hit and repaired a few times and did not come out as good but I'm still Happy with the results. I got tired of beating on it🤷‍♂️

Looks damn good to me.

Like magic! The ass end of mine will look fat but I’m gonna weld up some rear corner protection.

I like something like this. The swing can swing from either side or be totally removed and it adds considerable strength to the side armor with it's fore point mount and truss construction. add a couple of rotopax Gas/water a fold down table on the inside Bengo ready for the next Dusy trip

I plan to add to my 4x4Labs bumper. But, I do like the bumper on your friends Runner. I studied it a few weeks ago and decided to just work with what I already have.

agreed, It does not lend itself well to a existing swing out. But for me I'm starting with a clean slate 😉

Looks great from here!

I really like the Hydro, It's super nice to be able to turn in the big rocks with the lockers on. Here's a few more pictures of the ram and mounts.View attachment 2198084View attachment 2198086
That's exactly how I want to mount my axle housing bracket.

Do you got a pic of where the other end of the ram mounted on the drag link? I wanted to compare if mine was roughly in the same place.

I think I'm going to try the PSC 8in ram first. I'm using an clamp on bracket this time to attach to my rod. My first one I welded directly onto the bar and that made alignments a pain in the arse. Will also help if I decide to get a longer ram.

How much did that West texas 9 ram run you? Got a part number? I might buy the 9 since I know someone interested in maybe buying my 8.

Same. I'm waiting to buy some more DOM tube. But I did a quick mock-up with some scrap tubes I had laying around.
Need to go to my buddies and use his tube bender. Thinking about making a U and adding some 45 tubes inside the U for strength. Not 100% sure on the design yet, but that's what I'm thinking about so far.

I am a advocate of checking you NUTS. when out on the trail I well check them every morning before departure. I like using a deep offset box end wrench on the trail as it hard to bend the backing plate out of the way to get the back bolts with a socket laying in the dirt. The issue with using a wrench is it's hard to get them tight with the short handle of the wrench so when I would find a lose one I would use my foot to get the bolt tight. So I made this.

Now I should be able to get the leverage that I need to get the bolts tight.

I just did a nut and bolt yesterday while under the truck installing my used EMF Tres. The inner backing plates suck. Even with my XL Gearwrench. I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday and making a custom wrench and welding an extension on.

Just an FYI, I use a paint pen on the knuckle studs/nuts.

All I got to do is glance at it to know if hasn’t moved.

Cheers

And if one's lose you still need a wrench. But I like it. Do you extend the mark onto the knuckle in case the nut and stud are moving together. Some how I just feel better about it if I put a wrench on it.

I think it's time for a up date.
My cooling system has been completely gone through all new OEM except the radiator. Normal driving I have no issue, But low speed crawling with the AC on can be a issue.
The temps well start to climb, I'm comfortable two about 205* when it hits 210* I turn the AC off. If I put it neutral and bump it up to 2k RPMs the temps start to fall immediately.
Most of the wheeling that I do is in the SW desert, I don't like the heat or dust so even in moderate Temps I well have the window up and the AC on.
So may goal is to get it so I can run the AC with out the Temp rising.
So first up When I mounted my winch the solenoid needed to be mounted remotely, but the cables that came with the winch were short as the solenoid was made to mounted on the winch itself, so I took a short cut and mounted it in front of the radiator (bad idea) thinking it would not block to much air flow 🤷‍♂️

It's setting there loose right now but you get the idea.
The plan was to move tit up to the spot were the windshield washer bottle was as the bottle has already been relocated.
1615043763763.png

Using cardboard I made a template of how i wanted the mount to be, utilizing the three OEM mounting point for the washer bottle.
1615044296267.png

mounted up now I need to make all new cables
1615044638009.png

All cables were sleeved with abrasion resistant sleeving and routed cleanly behind the grill.
1615045004353.png

Rubber grommets were used where they passed through the radiator support .
At this point the winch is hooked back up and working. I needed to get the Reg put back together for a up coming Snow wheeling trip.
More to come.

The snow wheeling trip was a blast

My wife & pup Sassy came along for the trip. Was Sassy first time in the snow & first time wheelin.
