I finished the driver's side and then removed the checker plate on the rocker panels to find this mess. I was going to buy new panels from EBI but they are not in stock yet so i will make up new ones.

I have done very little this summer so busy with other things but i did get the right rocker done and most of the right side. My plan is to finish the r/r off tomorrow so i can start on the left side.

Glad you haven't abandoned it, and it's just that you've been busy. Nice work on that rocker man; I'm always impressed by your work. I'll have to get some pointers from you some day.

Speaking of creating something from nothing i started work on the r/r yesterday. I was doing great until my daughter showed up and needed a complete brake job on her Vibe/Matrix. I know some think i should be buying new panels but sheet metal and wire and gas and my labor is cheap compared to the price of new. And don't forget this is not a show car, this is a bush basher that is going to be covered again with alum checker plate which is great protection in the woods.

I finished the left side then put some primer on it to stop the surface rust until i am ready to paint.

Just when i thought i could put the welder away i removed the top and had to do some repair in the r/r corner

The last few days i have spent some time scraping, wire wheeling and pressure washing the frame and undercarrage and all the power train and suspension in prepperation for painting.

Some guy who works in a body shop told me it was illegal to paint in your driveway. Where else am i suppose to paint on the street?

Probably just butthurt about people doing their own body work, and not paying his shop to do it.
