Thanks for the positive thoughts guys. I'll see about some videos tomorrow perhaps. I have only taken one, I'll find the link to YouTube.
To add a little more, I recently rebuilt my front axle with some kit on ebay from New Zealand. Came with new cv joints or "birfields" as some choose to call them. I also bought a 7/32" gun drill which is just a fancy super long drill bit with one cutting edge.
Chucked the joints in my lathe and got to work. VERY SLOWLY. I did not want to break the fancy tool that was going to make my dreams come true
Instead of tapping each joint for a zerk I drilled out a bolt and put a zerk in said bolt which screws into the joints.
Voila! Greasable cv joints! No need for some fancy machinist!
