Here's my beat up junk. By chance I ended up with a mitsubishi engine that someone else mated to an NV4500 trans. This was mounted in a chevy 3500hd with a bad trans. My 2F started knocking so I thought what the hell!

Engine is a fully mechanical 302ci I6. 6d31t from 91 I believe.

Rebuilt trans and transfer case and an AA adapter made this swap possible.

I will add more pics and info when I get time.

I want you to really look at this picture. Check out the bell housing and you might notice it looks a lot like a 15 inch steel wheel. That's because it is! A better mechanic than myself made a bell housing from a steel wheel. I don't know who bit that's how it came to me.

Diesel kiki pump. No aneroids here! Pump is currently turned all the way up, and I set the governor at 3800 rpm.

Took way too long to discover this but you can use an abs sensor to produce a tach signal. The 60 tachometer wanted 4 pulses per revolution.

I tried the gm master cylinder for a while but switched to the Toyota one due to a stiff pedal

Real easy to braze 3/16 into 1/4 brake line!

This mitsubishi is pretty quiet for a diesel, but the intake noise was pretty annoying. So I went through a few stages of intake and intercooler changes. I had a supra intercooler on the top of the engine a while but I didn't care for it. I felt it was counter productive putting a cooler on top of a hot engine

Somehow I convinced myself I was gonna run this with a waste gate actuator. Driven by drive pressure it would limit boost to 15psi. The stock turbo was able to push 20

Torched out a couple adapter plates from 3/4 steel. "Machined" them myself and had a machine shop mill them flat. This setup takes 3 gaskets

I eliminated the goofy stock wrap around intake pipe, capped off the rear of the manifold, and welded a 3 inch inlet in the middle. Flow baby, flow.

That is all i got.

Please keep in mind I am but a lowly, self taught, shade tree mechanic. My junk is messy, welds are not perfect, and overall kinda hard to look at. I understand that.

I do however hope to clean my rig up one day. I have a whole 60 shell in my garage with very little rust I plan to swap on my frame one of these years. At which point I would like to make the intercooler less obvious and wiring more tucked away. This shell is quite ugly and I'm not trying to make it nice. The drive train was my first priority.

As of late I have been treating the vgt simply as an adjustable exhaust housing turbo. I run a max of 30-35 psi and around 6-7 psi on the highway. It spools fast like this but as a result I see increased drive pressure all the time.

Stock hp was 145. I would guesstimate I'm at around 200 hp now. She DOES fly. I wish there were a dyno near Eau Claire wi.

Notes worthy of mention:

2200 rpm @ 70mph (33 in tires and 3.73 gears )
22 mpg @70 mph
24 mpg @60 mph
26 mpg@ 55 mph
Average mpg is more like 18.

Factory AC still works
New injector nozzles from 6d34
Rebuilt nv4500 and t case
New 6.5 TD clutch
GM Hydroboost pump and booster
V6 4runner front calipers
Rebuilt front axle with "gun drilled birfields"
99 pontiac Bonneville 9-way power seats
Ebay air bags front and rear
Rancho rs9000 shocks in the rear set to stiff
3in exhaust all the way!
AA adapter from nv4500 to split case
