Refresh my memory. Intercooler? I think we said no, but I can't get past that. It needs some post-boost cooling. It's hot here in TX.

If everything goes as planned the intercooler will be an option as part of the kit.

I am incredibly excited about this. So you think stock HG/studs are more than capable of longevity with this setup? I am likely doing HG soon and could do ARP studs/MLS gasket but that turns into an expensive slippery slope of well might as well do pistons etc... Sorry if this has been covered already, but 24 pages has my brain trying to remember.

I have been running stock head bolts and OEM gasket at twice the boost level this kit will be running and have for almost 4 years without issue.

Air/water, using a Bell core and bell fabricated end tanks, a large Derale heat exchanger, Corvette Z06 pump and Spal fan.

Nice. Air/Air or Air/Water?

Weren't you at one time having issues with the pump dying? Were they zo6 pumps also?

No I used a Meiziere pump on my truck, it was wired improperly and it was dying due to voltage drop. But I am going with an OEM pump for reliability reasons.

My bad.. I thought you were relaying what you used on your truck in that post.

My turbo has been on the truck since new in 1997 ,same HG. With that said many have lost the HG without any forced induction of any kind.

this is exciting! I daily drive my truck and would love some boost

if the kit materializes, will there be a big brake kit so we can all slow down our faster rigs?

Nope unfortunately being the guinea pig I lived and learned and this kit will be better than my setup that cost me considerably more. Going with a good core instead of trying to be cheap and using the Frozenboost core means it will work right the first time and not have to be redone, it also means we won't have to mess with water/meth injection because the intercooler isn't working as well as it should. As for the pumps the Meiziere is a very nice unit. It is made in the USA and solid CNC machined metal, but it is also more than three times the cost of the OEM pump. This is one of those times when you know the OEMs have spent the time and energy ensuring they have a product that works at least for 100,000 miles. lol. The pump is actually a Bosch 1150, it is used in the ZL1, ZO6, 2009-2013 Cadillac CTSV, Cadillac STSV, Cadillac XLRV, 1999-2004 Ford Lightning, Ford GT500 and many other OEM applications.

Scottryana this is going to be so awesome. You're the man for putting this together.

Haha I am just the idea man, all the heavy lifting and monetary investment is being put in by someone else that isn't ready to step up yet just encase this doesn't come to fruition, but that's the person we really need to thank! :)

It is the BOV/recirculation valve that won't be used with the stock MAF, but we wanted to have the flange welded on the piping encase people wanted to upgrade later.

So the top picture is the waste-gate, what's the bottom picture?

And this is going to be bolt-on that most of us 2 banana DIY'ers could install? No tuning etc required?

Yep, besides bolts at most there will be a couple wires to wire up.
